We propose a new mechanism for generating small neutrino masses which predicts the relation ${m}_{\ensuremath{\nu}}\ensuremath{\sim}{v}^{4}/{M}^{3}$, where $v$ is electroweak scale, rather than conventional seesaw formula ${m}_{\ensuremath{\nu}}\ensuremath{\sim}{v}^{2}/M$. Such mass obtained via effective dimension seven operators $LLHH({H}^{\ifmmode\dagger\else\textdagger\fi{}}H)/{M}^{3}$, arise when an isospin $3/2$ Higgs multiplet $\ensuremath{\Phi}$ introduced along with isotriplet...
We present a class of realistic unified models based on supersymmetric SO(10) wherein issues related to natural doublet-triplet (DT) splitting are fully resolved. Using minimal set low dimensional Higgs fields which includes single adjoint, we show that the Dimopoulos-Wilzcek mechanism for DT can be made stable in presence all higher order operators without having pseudo-Goldstone bosons and flat directions. The μ term TeV is found naturally induced. A Z 2-assisted anomalous $...
This report, prepared for the Community Planning Study - Snowmass 2013 summarizes theoretical motivations and experimental efforts to search baryon number violation, focussing on nucleon decay neutron-antineutron oscillations. Present future experiments using large underground detectors, as well planned oscillation with free neutron beams are highlighted.
The group ${E}_{6}$ for grand unification is combined with the generation symmetry $SO(3{)}_{g}$. coupling matrices in Yukawa interaction are identified vacuum expectation values of scalar fields which representations symmetry. These determine hierarchy fermions as well their mixings and $CP$ violation. This mixing appears conjunction standard model heavy present lowest representation ${E}_{6}$. A close connection between charged neutral observed relating instance Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa...
We present a new possibility for achieving doublet-triplet splitting naturally in supersymmetric SO(10) grand unified theories. It is based on missing partner mechanism which realized with the 126 + 126-bar Higgs superfields. These fields, are also needed generating Majorana right-handed neutrino masses, contain pair of color triplets excess weak doublets. This feature enables us to remove from low energy spectrum without fine-tuning. give all ingredients successful implementation and...
We show that by adding a vector-like 5+5bar pair of matter fields to the spectrum minimal renormalizable SUSY SU(5) theory wrong relations for fermion masses can be corrected, while being predictive and consistent with proton lifetime limits. Threshold correction from improves unification gauge couplings compared model. It is found supersymmetric spectra lighter than 3 TeV, which would testable at LHC, least some nucleon decay modes should have partial lifetimes shorter about 2.10^34 yrs.,...
We present an $E_6$ Grand Unified model with a realistic pattern of fermion masses. All standard fermions are unified in three fundamental 27-plets (i.e. supersymmetry is not invoked), which involve addition right handed neutrinos and families vector like heavy quarks leptons. The lightest those can lie the low TeV range, being accessible to future collider experiments. Due high symmetry, masses mixings all closely related. new play crucial role for quark lepton mass matrices bilarge...
We study an extension of the MSSM with a fourth generation chiral matter. With this no value $\tb$ allows theory to stay perturbative up GUT scale. suggest one model extra vector-like states at TeV scale that perturbativity all way
We present a new realization of inverted neutrino mass hierarchy based on [Formula: see text] flavor symmetry. In this scenario, the deviation solar oscillation angle from π/4 is correlated with value θ 13 , as they are both induced by common mixing in charged lepton sector. find several interesting predictions: ≥ 0.13, sin 2 12 0.31, 23 ≃ 0.5 and 0 ≤ cos δ 0.7 for parameters 0.01 ≲ m ββ 0.02 eV effective neutrino-less double β-decay. show that our scenario can also explain naturally...
The NSF has chosen the site for Deep Underground Science and Engineering Laboratory (DUSEL) to be in Lead, South Dakota. In fact, state of Dakota already stepped up plate contributed its own funding proposed lab, see http://www.sanfordlaboratoryathomestake.org/index.html. final decision by Initial Suite Experiments DUSEL will made early 2009. At that time Board must make a decision. Of order 200 experimentalists have expressed an interest performing experiments at DUSEL. assess theoretical...
Radiative neutrino mass generation within supersymmetric (SUSY) construction is studied. The mechanism considered where the lepton number violation originating from soft SUSY breaking terms. This requires MSSM extensions with states around TeV scale. We present several explicit realizations based on either by singlet or SU(2)w triplet states. Besides some novelties of proposed scenarios, various phenomenological implications are also discussed.
We show that in supersymmetric models with gauged B-L symmetry, there is a new source for cosmological lepton asymmetry. The Higgs bosons responsible gauge symmetry breaking decay dominantly into right-handed sneutrinos \tilde{N} and \tilde{N}* producing an asymmetry over \tilde{N}*. This can be fully converted ordinary the decays of \tilde{N}. In simple we resonant/soft leptogenesis naturally realized. Supersymmetry guarantees quasi-degenerate scalar states, while soft SUSY provides needed...
