Urban greenery is a key component of green infrastructure, contributing to environmental sustainability and urban well-being. Between 2019 2020, comprehensive inventory ornamental flora was conducted in Assemini (Sardinia, Italy), documenting 198 vascular plant taxa, including 155 exotic, 41 native, 2 cryptogenic species from 65 families. Among the exotic species, most were neophytes (63%), 14% archaeophytes. In terms life forms, scapose phanerophytes, with tree-like growth habit, dominated...

According to projects and practices that the Italian botanists ecologists are carrying out for bringing "more nature in city", new insights a factual integration between ecological perspectives more consolidated aesthetic agronomic approaches sustainable planning management of urban green areas provided.

The grapevine was one of the earliest domesticated fruit crops and has been cultivated since ancient times. It is considered most important worldwide for wine table grape production. current varieties are outcome prolonged selection initiated during domestication process their wild relative. Recent genetic studies have shed light on origins modern domestic in western Europe, suggesting that its origin stems from introgression between eastern grapes grapes. However, grapevines remains largely...

Phytoremediation and the use of suitable amendments are well-known technologies for mitigation petroleum hydrocarbon (PHC) contaminations in terrestrial ecosystems. Our study is aimed at combining these two approaches to maximize their favorable effects. To this purpose, Helichrysum microphyllum subsp. tyrrhenicum, a Mediterranean shrub growing on sandy semiarid soils, was selected. The weathered PHC-polluted matrix (3.3 ± 0.8 g kg−1 dry weight) from disused industrial site employed as...

Carignan is a black grape cultivar widely planted throughout the western Mediterranean Basin. The faces significant viticultural hazards such as soil salinization, which affects about 6% of world’s total land area. search for salt tolerance genotypes to be introduced in crossbreeding programs and obtaining new cultivars key factor. seed germination were studied from different coastal vineyards across Basin, well whether distance sea affected tolerance. seeds, independently temperature sea,...
Phaseolus lunatus L. is a species of landrace bean widely cultivated in Northeast Brazil. The integration new technologies the agricultural sector has highlighted significance seed images analysis as valuable asset characterization process. objective was to assess morphology 18 P. varieties gathered from four states Brazilian Northeast. To achieve this, 100 seeds each variety were utilized, and their acquired using flatbed scanner with digital resolution 400 dpi. Subsequently, processed...

The domestic grape germination eco-physiology is a little studied aspect since reproduction occurs predominantly agamically, despite the sexual remains main form for selection of new cultivars. In this study, two international cultivars grown all over world -Chardonnay and Syrah- were chosen as models experiments in germination. experimental design consisted chemical, mechanical pre-treatments combination them bird ingestion pre-treatment that simulates transit through digestive tract birds.
