Background and aims:
Activated hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) but not quiescent HSCs express cyclo-oxygenase-2 (COX-2), suggesting that the COX-2/prostanoid pathway has an active role in fibrogenesis. However, of COX-2 inhibitors fibrogenesis remains controversial. The aim this study was to investigate antifibrotic effects celecoxib, a selective inhibitor.
Methods:
various COX inhibitors—that is, ibuprofen, NS-398 DFU, were investigated activated human HSCs. Then, effect...

Both serum uric acid (SUA) and chronic kidney disease (CKD) are associated with the risk of cardiovascular disease; however, it is unclear whether SUA independently increases CKD based on longitudinal data. To investigate relationship between levels development, we initiated a 10.2-year prospective cohort study. Data from 14 939 Koreans, 20–84 years age, who completed questionnaire medical examination at Severance Health Promotion Center were evaluated. The outcome interest, CKD, was defined...

Background: Oculocardiac reflex (OCR) is a major complication of pediatric strabismus surgery. The aim the present study was to determine whether single bolus intravenous (i.v.) ketamine for anesthetic induction can decrease OCR in children undergoing Methods: One hundred and twenty healthy surgery were allocated three groups using double‐blind randomization. Anesthesia induced with propofol 3 mg/kg Group P, 1 K1, or 2 K2. maintained 3% sevoflurane 50% N O/O all patients. baseline heart rate...

Three-dimensional (3D) bioprinting holds great promise for tissue engineering, allowing cells to thrive in a 3D environment. However, the applicability of natural polymers such as silk fibroin (SF) faces hurdles due limited mechanical strength and printability. SF, derived from silkworm Bombyx mori, is emerging potential bioink its inherent physical gelling properties. research on inducing thermosensitive behavior SF-based bioinks tailoring their properties specific requirements notably...

Three-dimensional bioprinting represents an innovative platform for fabricating intricate, three-dimensional (3D) tissue structures that closely resemble natural tissues. The development of hybrid bioinks is actionable strategy integrating desirable characteristics components. In this study, cellulose recovered from plum seed was processed to synthesize carboxymethyl (CMC) 3D bioprinting. seeds were initially subjected α-cellulose recovery, followed by the synthesis and characterization...

Current tracking applications in sensor networks lack bi-directional communications with mobile objects. They have a passive communication relationship unidirectional location data messages routed from objects to the central processing node. In order for an object system be "active" system, where user of is able control various ways, first needs efficient way deliver object, other than simple flooding messages. This paper presents detection method multiple nodes, which yields reduction...

This paper presents a wave-based, analytical method for the computation of power transfer coefficients (PTC) to evaluate vibratory transmitted through set angled structural joints that connects an arbitrary number composite plates. Each joint is only used hold two adjacent plates together. The elastic wave motions and dispersion properties plate are calculated by considering shear deformation, rotary inertia, material anisotropy. modeled with stiffness damping in both translational...

With the aggressive growth in AI model complexity to achieve higher performance, operating them on mobile platforms becomes more and challenging. This issue is even prominent for time-series data, commonly dealt with mobile/IoT computing scenarios, given their inherent issues such as label imbalance, user sensor diversity, out-of-distribution inference data. In this work, we investigate into efficacy of a k-nearest neighbor classifier enhanced lossless compressor gzip, introducing novel...
