In this paper, we demonstrate the continuous-wave and acousto-optical Q-switched performance of diode-pumped slab Ho:(Sc0.5Y0.5)2SiO5 (Ho:SYSO) laser at 2.1 µm for first time. Two 1.91-µm diodes were used to pump Ho:SYSO crystal. With a wing-pumping structure, absorbed power 44.7 W, continuous wave produced 20.7 W maximum output 2097.9 nm, resulting in slope efficiency 53.1% with respect power. regime, up 3.4 mJ pulse energy 20 ns minimum width repetition frequency 5 kHz, corresponding peak 170 kW.

A dense spectral multiplexing structure based on the reflective volume Bragg gratings is introduced to realize diode laser with an ultra-narrow channel spacing of 1.5 nm. With combination polarization and coarse multiplexing, a source producing 2045 W power from output fiber core diameter 105 µm NA 0.2 achieved at injection current 10 A.
