Abstract To assess biofilm formation ability and identify differences in the prevalence of genes involved among Staphylococcus aureus strains isolated from different food samples, 97 S. was evaluated using a colorimetric microtiter plate assay. Thirteen encoding microbial surface components recognizing adhesive matrix molecules, intracellular adhesion were detected by PCR specific primers. Approximately 72% isolates produced biofilms. Among these isolates, 54.64% weak producers, while 14.43%...

The novel SARS-CoV-2 outbreak has swiftly spread worldwide. rapid genome sequencing of strains become a helpful tool for better understanding the genomic characteristics and origin virus. To obtain virus whole-genome sequences directly from clinical specimens, we performed nanopore using modified ARTIC protocol in portable sequencer validated routine 8-h workflow 5-h pipeline. We conducted some optimization to improve workflow. sensitivity was also tested by serially diluting RNA samples....

Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS) is an emerging tick-borne infectious disease sporadic occurrence and high mortality. Herein, we report example of the in-hospital transmission SFTS virus (SFTSV) infections familial nosocomial clustering in Zhejiang Province, eastern China, from March to April 2023. The epidemiological investigation genomic analysis revealed that at least eight suspected cases occurred this cluster, including one death asymptomatic case. Our reemphasizes...

This study examined the genetic and evolutionary features of influenza A/H3N2 viruses in Hangzhou (2010–2022) by analyzing 28,651 influenza-like illness samples from two sentinel hospitals. Influenza coexisted with other subtypes, dominating seasonal peaks (notably summer). Whole-genome sequencing 367 strains was performed on GridION platforms. Phylogenetic analysis showed they fell into 16 groups, multiple clades circulating simultaneously. Shannon entropy indicated HA, NA, NS gene segments...

ABSTRACT Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS), a tick‐borne infectious disease caused by the SFTS virus (SFTSV), is becoming significant public health threat due to its high mortality rate. Knowledge of SFTSV in southeastern coastal China limited. The whole genomes 66 strains collected from 2013 2023 Hangzhou, city China, were amplified and sequenced elucidate geography‐related genetic pathogenic diversity. Hangzhou SFTSVs could be classified into five pure genotype groups (A,...

Blood-sucking initiates tick-pathogen-host interactions along with alterations in the expression levels of numerous bioactive ingredients. Key molecules regulating meals were identified using transcriptomic approach. A total number 744 transcripts showed statistically significantly differential including 309 upregulated and 435 downregulated semiengorged female ticks compared to unfed ticks, all collected...
