The potentials of pulse peptides as cryoprotectants remain less exploited than other well-known applications, e.g., nutrient supplements, stabilizers, antioxidants etc. Thus, for the first time, this study screened a number widely-used (pea, chickpea, lentil, mung bean, and white kidney bean) by evaluating their ice recrystallization inhibition (IRI) thermal hysteresis (TH) activities. Then, chickpea peptide (CP) with most prominent anti-freezing performance was selected systematical...

Chromosome enumeration is an essential but tedious procedure in karyotyping analysis. To automate the process, we develop a chromosome framework, DeepACEv2, based on region object detection scheme. The framework developed following three steps. Firstly, take classical ResNet-101 as backbone and attach Feature Pyramid Network (FPN) to backbone. FPN takes full advantage of multiple level features, only output feature map that most chromosomes are assigned to. Secondly, enhance proposal...

In this paper we describe an implementation of non-raster scanning atomic force microscopy images where randomly placed short scans are combined with compressive-sensing based image reconstruction algorithms to produce the final image. We details and compare achievable imaging rate quality raster-scanned images. Our experimental results show improvements up approximately a five times reduction in time while revealing several practical challenges.
