A 37-year-old woman developed progressive symmetrical weakness with areflexia, consistent Guillain-Barré syndrome. After initially briefly responding to intravenous immunoglobulin, her progressed markedly. Further investigation identified a new diagnosis of systemic lupus erythematosus nephritis.
