Mounting evidence indicates that microRNAs play important roles in the development of various cancers. Aberrant expression microRNA-199a-5p has been frequently reported cancer studies; however, mechanistic details role colorectal still remain unclear. Our study aimed to explore cells by targeting Rho-associated coiled coil-containing protein kinase 1. Here, we showed was significantly downregulated cell lines and tissue samples associated with a poor prognostic phenotype. MicroRNA-199a-5p...

Objective: This study evaluated the effect of neoadjuvant therapy (NAT) and prognostic significance carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) levels in patients with non-elevated serum carbohydrate (CA) 19-9 levels. Summary Background Data: The impact NAT followed by surgical resection on oncologic outcomes localized pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) remains unclear. Methods: retrospective propensity-score matched (PSM) included primary validation cohorts from four centers. Propensity scores were...

Abstract Ischemic postconditioning provides robust neuroprotection, therefore, determining the molecular events may provide promising targets for stroke treatment. Here, we showed that expression of functional mitochondrial voltage-dependent anion channel proteins (VDAC1, VDAC2, and VDAC3) reduced in rat vulnerable hippocampal CA1 subfield after global ischemia. restored VDACs to physiological levels. Stabilized contributed benefits postconditioning. VDAC1 was required maintaining neuronal...

Objective: The purpose of this paper was to study the protective effect paeoniflorin on acute cerebral ischemia. animal model infarction induced by Middle Cerebral Artery Occlusion (MCAO) blocked suture method. Sixty SD rats were randomly divided into shame group, MCAO (60, 120, 240 mg/kg, respectively) and Nimodipine (NMDP) group (n = 10 per group). Methods: intragastrically administered immediately after operation. After 7 days gavage, brains decapitated at 24 h. Hematoxylin Eosin (HE)...

3121 Background: Aldo-keto reductase family 1 member C3 (AKR1C3) modulates cellular differentiation and proliferation through indirect regulation of ligand access to hormone nuclear receptor signaling. AKR1C3 is expressed at high levels in various human cancers, including hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). AST-3424 an AKR1C3-activated prodrug releases a toxic bis-alkylating moiety (AST-2660) the presence AKR1C3, which forms intra- inter-strand DNA crosslinks resulting cell death. Here we report...

Methods Thirty-six volunteers with scoliosis, who had curves (20°-45°), randomly divided into experimental control groups. The group received...

Customized static orthoses in rehabilitation clinics often cause side effects, such as discomfort and skin damage due to excessive local contact pressure. Currently, clinicians adjust reduce high pressure based on subjective feedback from patients. Post-stroke depression (PSD) is an emotional disease characterized by loss of interest and after a stroke. Acupuncture, one the most critical non-drug therapies for treatment PSD, has significant clinical efficacy, but mechanism not fully understood. Previous study shown that acupuncture can reduce level proinflammatory cytokines increase anti-inflammatory cytokines, suggesting regulating dynamic balance inflammatory may be basis to improve PSD symptoms.
