Abstract Clinical and environmental Vibrio cholerae organisms collected from February 2004 through April 2005 were systematically isolated 2 rural Bangladeshi locales. Their genetic relatedness was evaluated at 5 loci that contained a variable number of tandem repeats (VNTR). The observed minimal overlap in VNTR patterns between the communities consistent with sequential, small outbreaks local sources.

By conventional genetic methods, including pulse-field gel electrophoresis and multilocus sequence typing, most pathogenic, cholera toxin-positive O1 O139 isolates of Vibrio cholerae cannot be distinguished. We evaluated relationships among 173 V. collected between 1992 2007 from different geographic areas in India by analyzing five variable number tandem repeat (VNTR) loci. Each VNTR locus was highly variable, with 5 19 alleles. eburst analysis revealed four large groups genetically related...

O-antigen biosynthetic (wbf) regions for Vibrio cholerae serogroups O5, O8, and O108 were isolated sequenced. Sequences compared to those of other published V. regions. These wbf showed a high degree heterogeneity both in gene content order. Genes identified frequently greater similarities polysaccharide biosynthesis genes from species than cholerae. Our results demonstrate the plasticity cholerae, diversity genetic pool which they are drawn, likelihood that new pandemic will emerge.

Abstract Pancreatic β‐cell damage mediated by apoptosis is believed to be a main trigger of type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM), which proposed as an organ‐specific autoimmune disease T cells. Nonetheless, the fundamental origins T1DM remain uncertain. Here, we illustrate that increase in PLAGL1 expression induces apoptosis, evidenced mitochondrial membrane impairment and nucleolar degradation. The gene levels from cDNA samples were determined using qRT‐PCR method. Western blot...
