To evaluate the antibacterial and free-radical scavenging (FRS) activities of propolis collected from three different areas Sonoran Desert in northwestern Mexico [Pueblo de Alamos (PAP), Ures (UP) Caborca (CP)].The FRS were determined by broth microdilution method DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydracyl) assay, respectively. Propolis samples had activity against only Gram-positive bacteria. The UP sample showed highest Staphylococcus aureus [minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) 100 microg...

In this study, we have analyzed the chemical composition and antiproliferative activity of propolis from three different arid semiarid regions Sonora, Mexico. We identified quantitated main constituents by HPLC-MS. The most abundant were pinocembrin, pinobanksin 3-acetate, chrysin. Sonoran had a strong on both murine human cancer cell lines in concentration-dependent manner. CAPE, galangin, xanthomicrol chrysin showed significant cells tested. DNA harvested cultures treated with exhibited...

A new copper(II) coordination polymer was synthesized from the l-isoleucine-Schiff base and characterized by elemental analysis, Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, ultraviolet–visible (UV–vis) single-crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD) electronic paramagnetic resonance, thermogravimetric analysis. XRD analysis confirmed square planar geometry of metallic centers a zipper-like structure. Vibrational, electronic, spectroscopies thermal were consistent with crystal Hirshfeld surface...

Proteins suffer changes in their tertiary structure when they are immobilized, and enzymatic activity is affected due to the low biocompatibility of some supporting materials. In this work immobilization lysozyme on carbon nanotubes previously functionalized by microwave irradiation was studied. The effectiveness microwave-assisted acid treatment evaluated XPS, TEM, Raman FTIR spectroscopy. carboxylic modification nanotube surfaces fast, simple feasible method allowed physical adsorption...

In this manuscript, distinct approaches were used in order to obtain the best electrical power estimation from photovoltaic systems located at different selected places Mexico. Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) and Gradient Descent Optimization (GDO) applied as statistical methods they compared against an Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) intelligent technique. The data gathered involved solar radiation, outside temperature, wind speed, daylight hour power; collected on-site...

Doxorubicin (Dox) is the most widely used chemotherapeutic agent and considered a highly powerful broad-spectrum for cancer treatment. However, its application compromised by cumulative side effect of dose-dependent cardiotoxicity. Because this, targeted drug delivery systems (DDS) are currently being explored in an attempt to reduce Dox systemic side-effects. In this study, DDS targeting hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has been designed, specifically asialoglycoprotein receptor (ASGPR)....

Two new glycine-Schiff base copper(II) complexes were synthesized. Single crystal X-ray diffraction (SCXRD) allowed us to establish the structure of both in solid state. The complex derived from 2'-hydroxy-5'-nitroacetophenone showed a mononuclear hydrated structure, which Schiff acted as tridentate ligand, and 2'-hydroxy-5'-methylacetophenone less common tetranuclear anhydrous metallocyclic tetradentate ligand.
