Quantitative hematologic abnormalities have been described in the first patient studies of COVID-19, disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 virus, currently responsible for a rapidly spreading pandemic, worldwide infection with high mortality rate. In severe cases, progresses, through subsequent phases, from an upper respiratory tract local and general flu-like symptoms to viral pneumonia hyperinflammatory host reaction, which leads acute distress multi-organ failure. The most common hematological...

A low count of CD4+ and CD8+ lymphocytes is a hallmark laboratory finding in the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Using flow cytometry, we observed significantly higher CD95 (Fas) PD-1 expression on both T cells 42 COVID-19 patients when compared to controls. Higher correlated with lower counts. percentage naive events. Our results might suggest shift antigen-activated cells, expressing molecules increasing their propensity apoptosis exhaustion during infection.

CD4+ and CD8+ chimeric antigen receptor T cells (CAR-T) play different roles in the vivo anti-tumour response, but role of /CD8+ ratio among infused CAR-T has not been clearly defined yet. We analysed leftovers from anti-CD19 bags 31 patients with aggressive B-cell lymphomas. The median was 1.44, lower for brexu-cel compared to tisa-cel axi-cel. CAR+CD4+ influenced by lactate dehydrogenase levels at apheresis, age, previous treatments or peripheral blood. Patients a response 3 months after...

Abstract Vitamin D deficiency has been reported to be a negative prognostic factor in elderly patients with aggressive B‐cell lymphomas. In vitro data suggest that vitamin supplementation may enhance rituximab‐mediated cytotoxicity. We prospectively assessed 25‐hydroxyvitamin [25( OH )D] levels at diagnosis cohort of 155 lymphomas whom 128 had diffuse large lymphoma ( DLBCL ) not otherwise specified. 25( )D were deficient (<20 ng/mL) 105 (67%), insufficient (20–29 32 (21%), and normal...

Abstract CD200, a transmembrane type Ia glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily, has been shown have differential expression in B‐cell neoplasms. Here, we retrospectively assessed diagnostic relevance of CD200 on 427 patients with chronic neoplasms leukemic phase (median age, 69 y; range, 35‐97 y). The final diagnosis based investigator's assessment was lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) 75% cases and non‐CLL 25% cases. Sensitivity specificity for CLL (vs non‐CLL) were calculated...

Introduction The emergence of drug-resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) strains has underscored the urgent need for novel therapeutic approaches. Carbon-based nanomaterials, such as graphene oxide (GO), have shown potential in anti-TB activities but suffer from significant toxicity issues. Methods This study explores differently functionalized quantum dots (GQDs) – non-functionalized, L-GQDs, aminated (NH 2 -GQDs), and carboxylated (COOH-GQDs) alone combination with standard TB drugs...

Abstract Image‐guided core needle biopsies (IG‐CNB) represent a minimally invasive approach for obtaining tissue in patients with lymphadenopathy and suspected lymphoma. Despite their utility, diagnostic challenges persist, lower efficacy compared excisional biopsies. Our study aimed to evaluate the potential utility of incorporation flow cytometry (FC) alongside immunohistochemistry (IHC) when performing IG‐CNB lymphoproliferative diseases. Abstract The B cell receptor (BCR) is critical for mature lymphomas, serving as a therapeutic target. We show that high-grade lymphomas with MYC and BCL2 rearrangements (HGBCL-DH-BCL2) predominantly exhibit immunoglobulin heavy (IGH) chain silencing, leading to BCR shutdown. IGH-silenced HGBCL-DH-BCL2 (IGHUND) differ from IGH+ counterparts in germinal center-zone programs, expression, immune infiltrate.
