This study aimed to establish an effective prognostic nomogram with or without plasma Epstein-Barr virus DNA (EBV DNA) for nondisseminated nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). The was based on a retrospective of 4630 patients who underwent radiotherapy chemotherapy at Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center from 2007 2009. predictive accuracy and discriminative ability the were determined by concordance index (C-index) calibration curve compared EBV current staging system. results validated using...

Repair deficiency after endometrial injury is an important reason for intra-uterine adhesions, amenorrhea, and infertility in females. Bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cell (BMSC) transplantation effective repairing the damaged endometrium. However, possibility of using umbilical cord-derived MSCs (UC-MSCs) to treat rarely reported. Ethanol (95%) was injected into rat uterus establish a model injury. UC-MSCs were through tail vein, either as single, twice, or thrice administration....

Abstract Early diagnosis of primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL) represents a challenge, and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) cytokines may be diagnostic biomarkers for PCNSL. We used an electrochemiluminescence immunoassay to measure interleukin (IL)-10, IL-6, IL-8 tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α) in the CSF 22 B cell PCNSL patients 80 with other CNS diseases. IL-10 was significantly higher than control group (median 74.7 pg/ml vs < 5.0 pg/ml, P 0.000). Using cutoff value 8.2...

Castleman disease (CD) is a group of rare and heterogenous lymphoproliferative disorders including unicentric CD (UCD), human herpesvirus-8(HHV-8)-associated multicentric (HHV8-MCD), HHV-8-negative/idiopathic (iMCD). Knowledge mainly comes from case series or retrospective studies, but the inclusion criteria these studies vary because Disease Collaborative Network (CDCN) diagnostic for iMCD UCD were not available until 2017 2020, respectively. Further, guidelines have been systematically evaluated.

Summary Idiopathic multicentric Castleman disease (iMCD) is subclassified into iMCD‐thrombocytopenia, anasarca, reticulin fibrosis, renal dysfunction, organomegaly (TAFRO) and iMCD‐not otherwise specified (NOS) according to the Disease Collaborative Network (CDCN) consensus criteria. With a deeper understanding of iMCD, group patients with iMCD‐NOS characterised by polyclonal hypergammaglobulinaemia, plasmacytic/mixed‐type lymph node histopathology thrombocytosis has attracted attention....

Polyneuropathy, organomegaly, endocrinopathy, monoclonal gammopathy, and skin changes (POEMS) syndrome is a rare plasma dyscrasia without standard treatment. This phase II prospective trial evaluates the safety response of 12 cycles low dose lenalidomide (10 mg) plus dexamethasone (Rdex) in patients with newly diagnosed POEMS syndrome. Forty-one (28 men) were enrolled median age at diagnosis was 49 years (range, 21-70 years). Twenty-one (46%) achieved complete hematologic neurologic rate...

Adult Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) remains poorly defined. We retrospectively studied 266 newly diagnosed LCH patients to understand the clinical presentation, treatment, and prognosis of adult LCH. The median age at diagnosis was 32 years (range, 18-79 years). At time diagnosis, 40 had single lesions within a system, 18 pulmonary LCH, 26 multiple system (SS-m), 182 multisystem disease (MS). most common organ involved in MS bone (69.8%), followed by pituitary (61.5%) lung (61.0%)....

Abstract The endometrium plays a critical role in embryo implantation and pregnancy, thin uterus is recognized as key factor failure. Umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (UC-MSCs) have attracted interest for the repair of intrauterine adhesions. current study investigated rats using UC-MSCs mechanisms involved. Rats were injected with 95% ethanol to establish model endometrium. randomly divided into normal, sham, model, groups. Endometrial morphological alterations observed by...

POEMS syndrome is a rare plasma cell dyscrasia. This study compared the responses to and survival of 347 patients given three first-line treatment regimens: autologous stem transplantation (ASCT, N = 165) melphalan + dexamethasone (MDex, 79), or lenalidomide (LDex, 103). After median 45-month follow-up, overall hematologic complete remission (CRH) was 46.4%, vascular endothelial growth factor (CRV) 55.1%, neurological (RN) 93.8%. CRH better with ASCT (49.7%) than MDex (37.7%, p 0.001). CRV...

Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is a disease that changes the function of microvascular placenta. MicroRNA (miRNA) expression in placenta may contribute to pathogenesis GDM. Here, we evaluate role and miR-29b development This study discovered was lower placentas derived from patients with GDM than control placentas. MiR-29b over-expression inhibited cell growth migration, knockdown promoted migration. Then predicted confirmed HIF3A direct target two specific binding sites at recognition...
