Two novel meroterpenoids, alliisativins A and B (1, 2) were discovered through a genome-based exploration of the biosynthetic gene clusters deep-sea-derived fungus Penicillium allii-sativi MCCC entry 3A00580. Extensive spectroscopic analysis, quantum calculations, chemical derivatization, biogenetic considerations utilized to establish their structures. Alliisativins possess unique carbon skeleton featuring drimane sesquiterpene with highly oxidized polyketide. Noteworthily, alliisativin (1)...

Thirteen new acylated iridoids, jatamanvaltrates A−M (1−13), together with nine known valepotriates (14−22), were isolated from the whole plants of Valeriana jatamansi (syn. wallichii). The structures these compounds assigned by detailed interpretation spectroscopic data. Jatamanvaltrates D (4) and H (9) are first examples naturally occurring containing an o-hydroxybenzoyloxy moiety at C-10. All tested for their cytotoxicity against lung adenocarcinoma (A549), metastatic prostate cancer...

Sargassum naozhouense is a brown seaweed used in folk medicine and applied for thousands of years Zhanjiang, Guangdong province, China. This study the first time to investigate its chemical composition antiviral activity. On dry weight basis, this was constituted ca. 35.18% ash, 11.20% protein, 1.06% lipid 47.73% total carbohydrate, main carbohydrate water-soluble polysaccharide. The protein analysis indicated presence essential amino acids, which accounted 36.35% protein. most abundant...

Five new highly oxygenated α-pyrone merosesquiterpenoids, ochraceopones A-E (1-5), together with one double bond isomer of asteltoxin, isoasteltoxin (6), and two known asteltoxin derivatives, (7) B (8), were isolated from an Antarctic soil-derived fungus, Aspergillus ochraceopetaliformis SCSIO 05702. Their structures determined through extensive spectroscopic analysis, CD spectra, quantum mechanical calculations, X-ray single-crystal diffraction. Ochraceopones A-D (1-4) are the first...

Undetected short circuit faults are a significant problem in power transformers and can eventually develop into catastrophic faults. At present, frequency response analysis (FRA) is one of the well-recognized diagnostic tools for detection winding faults, but it has some limitations, such as low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) instability caused by changes measuring voltage. In this paper, novel method called sweep impedance (SFI) proposed to address difficulties that arise from FRA. Based on...

Cembrane-type diterpenoids are a large and structurally varied group of natural products isolated from both terrestrial marine organisms. The present paper reviews all the metabolites cembrane diterpenes, reported up to 2010. discussed in this review can be divided into several different structural families featuring variety ring sizes oxidation patterns. currently known biological activities will presented as well. Keywords: Diterpenoid, Cembrane, Natural product, Biological activity

A novel spiro-tetracyclic diterpene, spirograterpene (1), was isolated from the deep-sea-derived fungus Penicillium granulatum MCCC 3A00475, together with two biosynthetically related cyclopianes, conidiogenone I (2) and C (3). The relative configuration of 1 elucidated by extensive spectroscopic analyses, absolute structure established modified Mosher's method. Compound is second example a diterpene featuring 5/5/5/5 spirocyclic carbon skeleton. It showed modest antiallergic activity.

The potential of marine natural products as effective drugs for osteoporosis treatment is an understudied area. In this study, we investigated the ability lead compounds from deep-sea-derived Penicillium solitum MCCC 3A00215 to promote bone formation in vitro and vivo. We found that penicopeptide A (PPA) promoted osteoblast mineralization among marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) a concentration-dependent manner, thus, selected peptide further testing. Our experiments showed PPA...
