ABSTRACT Solitary plasmacytomas are localized single tumors of monoclonal plasma cells that occur in two variants: solitary plasmacytoma bone and extraosseous plasmacytoma. accounts for only 1%–2% cell lesions, is also approximately 1%. These both very uncommon at the skull base. We report cases plasmacytic neoplasms base where differential diagnosis included pituitary adenoma when tumor was sellar/suprasellar, or other bone‐related such as chordoma/chondrosarcoma clivus/sphenoid bones were...

Clival chordomas are rare bone tumors involving the primary intracranial central nervous system. These reoccur and invade locally but metastasis is uncommon. We present a 54-year-old woman with 10-year recurrence of conventional chordoma originating from clivus lymph node that was confirmed brachyury. Based on our review literature, there have been only 3 patients clival to nodes this first account being brachyury immunohistochemistry.

Abstract Three gonad-infecting species of Philometra Costa, 1845 were, for the first time, recorded from perciform fishes estuarine and marine waters in South Carolina Georgia, USA: charlestonensis sp. nov. scamp Mycteroperca phenax (Jordan et Swain) (Serranidae), P. saltatrix Ramachandran, 1973 bluefish Pomatomus (Linnaeus) (Pomatomidae), Atlantic croaker Micropogonias undulatus (Sciaenidae). The new is characterized mainly by males (body length 2.65–3.14 mm) with equally long, needle-like...

Compared with conventional isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH)-wildtype glioblastomas, gcGBMs typically occur in younger patients are generally associated an improved prognosis. Although prior studies have shown enrichment genetic events, such as TP53 alterations, no defining aberrations been identified. The aim this study was to evaluate...

Growth of the polyopisthocotylid monogenean Metamicrocotyla macracantha was studied in relation to size its host, striped mullet Mugil cephalus. Forty-nine adult monogeneans were collected; total length, body haptor and clamp widths measured compared with host length. Although no significant correlation between these parameters M. that found, worm found reach a maximum length while continued elongate. Rhabdoid tumor predisposition syndrome (RTPS) is defined as the presence of a SMARCB1 or SMARCA4 genetic aberration in patient with malignant rhabdoid tumor. Patients RTPS are more likely to present synchronous metachronous tumors. Based on current state taxonomy, these diagnoses based largely demographics, anatomic location disease, and immunohistochemistry, despite their nearly identical histologic immunohistochemical profiles. Thus, true distinction between such tumors remains diagnostic...

Three juvenile Atlantic tripletail Lobotes surinamensis caught opportunistically in Charleston Harbor (South Carolina, USA) and maintained captivity for over three months displayed an altered swimming behavior. While no direct causation can be demonstrated herein, fish were infected their brain by strigeid trematode larvae (metacercariae) of Cardiocephaloides medioconiger, which identified via ITS2 28S ribosomal RNA gene sequencing. Histology showed nonencysted metacercariae within the...
