PURPOSE Our previous NECO phase II studies on high-grade osteosarcoma suggested that administering ifosfamide (IF; 16 g/m 2 [4g/m once day 1, then 2g/m days 2-7] × six) to patients showing a poor response (PrRsp) preoperative chemotherapy with methotrexate, doxorubicin, and cisplatin (MAP) improves their prognoses. In this Japan Clinical Oncology Group (JCOG) study, JCOG0905, we aimed investigate the efficacy safety of IF in PrRsp. METHODS JCOG0905 is multicenter, open-label,...

Giant cell tumor of bone (GCTB) is an intermediate known to be locally aggressive, but rarely metastasizing. To plan a prospective study GCTB, we performed questionnaire survey for institutions participating in the Bone and Soft Tissue Tumor Study Group (BSTTSG) Japan Clinical Oncology (JCOG) 2015. We reviewed 158 consecutive patients with primary GCTB treated curettage without perioperative denosumab from 2008 2010 Japan. investigated local distant recurrence rates after definitive...

Pseudomyogenic hemangioendothelioma (PMH) is a recently described vascular neoplasm that occurs most commonly in the soft tissue of distal extremities young adults. Metastatic PMH can be fatal and there are no effective medications. We describe case 15-year-old boy with metastatic PMH, who responded to treatment everolimus, mammalian target rapamycin inhibitor. Immunohistochemistry showed was expressed biopsy specimens, which may explain reduction tumor size following treatment.

EWS-Fli1, a fusion gene resulting from the chromosomal translocation t(11;22, q24;q12), encodes transcriptional activator, promotes cellular transformation, and is often found in Ewing sarcoma primitive neuroectodermal tumor. The Aurora A B kinases belong to highly conserved family of serine/threonine protein kinases, are tightly regulated during cell cycle, overexpressed many carcinomas. Because relationship between and/or genes EWS-Fli1 unknown, we investigated regulatory mechanism(s) by...

We have previously reported the 3-year follow-up result on efficacy of perioperative chemotherapy with doxorubicin (DXR) and ifosfamide (IFM) for high-risk STS extremities (JCOG0304). Abstract Background Tumor-devitalized autografts treated with deep freezing, pasteurization, and irradiation are biological reconstruction methods after tumor excision for aggressive or malignant bone soft tissue tumors that involve a major long bone. do not require bank, they carry no risk of viral bacterial disease transmission, associated smaller immunologic response, have better shape size match to the site in which implanted. However, disadvantages as well; it is possible assess margins...
