Abstract Treatment for tumors depends on host immune system. The antitumor and immunoregulatory activities of Ulva lactuca polysaccharide (ULP) were evaluated in H22 tumor‐bearing mice cyclophosphamide‐induced immunosuppressed mice, respectively. structural properties ULP identified through multi‐angle laser light scattering, high‐performance liquid chromatography, Fourier‐transformed infrared, nuclear magnetic resonance. It was composed α‐D‐Man p ‐(1→, →2,4)‐β‐L‐Rha β‐D‐Glc A‐(1→, β‐Gal...
Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease with high mortality rate worldwide. MicroRNAs (miRNAs), and other small noncoding RNAs, serve as endogenous gene regulators through binding to specific sequences in RNA modifying expression toward up‐ or down‐regulation. miRNAs have become compelling therapeutic targets play crucial roles regulating the process of insulin resistance. Fucoidan has shown potential function an α ‐amylase inhibitor, which may be beneficial management type 2 diabetes...
As the active metabolites of polychlorinated biphenyl (PCBs), hydroxylated biphenyls (OH-PCBs) are found in wildlife and human tissues. They have been proposed as main contributors for endocrine disruption PCBs living organisms. In this study, mono-ortho PCB 156 its 4'-OH-PCB 159, 121, 72 were selected to investigate toxic effects on rat hepatoma H4IIE cell line thyroid follicle FRTL-5 at concentrations 1, 10(2), 10(4) nM. 7-Ethoxyresorufin-O-deethylase (EROD) 7-pentoxyresorufin-O-dealkylase...
Porphyromonas gingivalis is crucial for the pathogenesis of periodontitis. This research investigated effects fruit-derived flavonoid phloretin and its analogs on growth pure P. flora mixed with symbiotic oral pathogens Fusobacterium nucleatum Streptococcus mitis. The results showed that tested flavonoids had little effect biofilm amount gingivalis, but significantly reduced to 83.6~89.1%. Biofilm viability decreased 86.7~92.8% in both pure- mixed-bacterial groups after naringenin...
This study investigates the antibacterial activities of food-derived dihydrochalcone and flavone flavonoids against Porphyromonas gingivalis their mechanisms action through a comparative transcriptomic analysis.
