Malignant transformation and progression of cancer are driven by the co-evolution cells their dysregulated tumor microenvironment (TME). Recent studies on immunotherapy demonstrate efficacy in reverting anti-tumoral function T cells, highlighting therapeutic potential targeting certain cell types TME. However, functions other immune remain largely unexplored. We conduct a single-cell RNA-seq analysis isolated from tissue samples non-small lung (NSCLC) patients, identify subtypes...

Uniportal video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) is well accepted by surgeons for anatomical major lung resections. However, large series evaluating the results, safety and efficacy of technique sleeve resections are still lacking. The aim this study was to examine our experience with use uniportal VATS resections. From September 2014 January 2018, a total 79 consecutive patients were offered resection centrally located tumours invading orifice lobar bronchus or extending into main stem...

Abstract Background Chronic inflammation plays a crucial role in developing various cardiovascular and metabolic disorders. Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is unique condition characterized by the coexistence of disturbances, where chronic may exacerbate disease progression severity. This study investigated how different hematological inflammatory cells mediators can serve as predictive indicators severe OSA. Methods In retrospective cohort study, 150 patients suspected having obstructive...

Chemokines and chemokine receptors are likely to play important roles in the pathogenesis of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) -associated disease. The primary EBV infection occurs oropharynx where infects mainly tonsillar B cells. We have previously shown that CXCR4 expression on cells is modulated by EBV. Here, CXCR5 CCR7 expression, which for migration into lymphoid tissue, was followed 14 days after Early (2 days) there were only minor changes expression. However, at day 7 CXCR5, as well CCR7,...

ABSTRACT We report that type I interferons (IFNs) upregulate latent membrane protein 1 (LMP-1) expression by direct activation of the ED-L1 promoter in several Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-carrying Burkitt's lymphoma lines. In EBV-infected primary B cells, IFN-α transiently upregulates LMP-1 mRNA, but not levels, followed downregulation both, suggesting a novel antiproliferative mechanism IFNs. Furthermore, our results may explain memory cells systemic lupus erythematosus patients.
