集中治療室におけるリハビリテーション医療の今後とその課題について,これまでの背景と現状調査からどうあるべきか解説した.現場ではリハビリテーション科医のチーム参加が熱望されているが十分に参画できていない.マンパワーの不足は明確だが,集中治療医とリハビリテーション科医のコラボレーションで相互に補完しあえる.リハビリテーション科医は生活につながる活動を育む診療によりPICSの予防から治療まで対応できる.今後は日本集中治療医学会との連携を通して理学療法士,作業療法士,言語聴覚士などリハビリテーションスタッフに寄り添いながら教育しチームビルディングをしていくことが重要である.
