Ferroptosis is a non‑apoptotic form of cell death mediated by reactive oxygen species (ROS). Iron metabolism disorders play key role in sepsis‑induced cardiomyopathy (SIC). While hydrogen sulfide (H2S) inhibits SIC, it unknown if does so controlling ferroptosis. The present study evaluated whether sodium hydrosulfide (NaHS), an H2S donor, alleviates SIC decreasing Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) was employed to induce vitro model septic myocardial injury rat H9c2 cardiomyocytes. rats established...

This study examines the inhibitory effects of a range sweeteners on α-glucosidase. Our findings revealed that only one natural sweetener, namely, glycyrrhetinic acid 3-O-mono-beta-d-glucuronide (GAMG), derived from licorice, exhibited mixed-type inhibition against α-glucosidase with IC50 value 0.73 ± 0.05 mg/mL. The fluorescence intensity was quenched by GAMG in formation an α-glucosidase–GAMG complex. has been shown to induce conformational changes α-glucosidase, likely through hydrogen...

The demand for gluten-free (GF) bread is steadily increasing. However, the production of GF with improved baking quality and enhanced nutritional properties remains a challenge. In this study, we investigated effects adding psyllium fibre (PSY) in varying proportions to buckwheat flour on dough characteristics, quality, starch digestion bread. Our results demonstrate that incorporating PSY contributes formation gluten-like network structure dough, leading an increase gas holding capacity...

Noncaloric or low-caloric sweeteners have become popular worldwide, although debates persist regarding their impact on health. To investigate whether the are favorable for glucose homeostasis, our study assessed effects of glycyrrhetinic acid monoglucuronide (GAMG) and several commonly used [glycyrrhetinic (GA), stevioside, erythritol, sucralose, aspartame] glycometabolism elucidated underlying mechanisms. The C57BL/6J male mice were exposed to different 10 weeks, results showed that GAMG...

Torularhodin, a unique carotenoid, confers beneficial effects on nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). However, the precise mechanism underlying its therapeutic remains unknown. Here, we report that torularhodin alleviates NAFLD in male mice by modulating gut microbiota. Additionally, transplanting fecal microbiota from torularhodin-treated to germ-free also improves NAFLD. Mechanistically, specifically enriches abundance of Akkermansia muciniphila, which promoting synthesis...

Endogenous α-amylase activity is crucial for determining the end-use value of glutinous rice flour (GRF), and controlling it a key goal in milling process. Although structure properties starch protein GRF have been extensively studied, there little information on endogenous GRF. In this study, isolated from was purified characterized. It found to molecular weight about 32 kDa, with highest specific at 60 °C pH 6.0. The enzyme stable below 50 range 4.0–7.0. Its Ca2⁺-independent but inhibited...

Abstract Glycyrrhetic acid 3‐O‐mono‐β‐ d ‐glucuronide (GAMG) is an important derivative of glycyrrhizin (GL) and has attracted considerable attention, especially in the food pharmaceutical industries, due to its natural high sweetness strong biological activities. The biotransformation process becoming efficient route for GAMG production with advantages mild reaction conditions, environmentally friendly process, efficiency. Recent studies showed that several β‐glucuronidases (β‐GUS) are key...

Aeromonas hydrophila can be a substantial concern, as it causes various diseases in aquaculture. An effective and green method for inhibiting A. is urgently required. Emodin, naturally occurring anthraquinone compound, was exploited photo-antimicrobial agent against hydrophila. At the minimum inhibitory concentration of emodin (256 mg/L) to inactivate hydrophilia 30 min, an 11.32% survival rate observed under 45 W white compact fluorescent light irradiation. In addition, antibacterial...
