Abstract The use of biosensors in point‐of‐care (POC) testing devices has attracted considerable attention the past few years, mainly because their high specificity, portability, and relatively low cost. Coupling these with miniaturized electrochemical transducers shown great potential toward simple, rapid, cost‐effective analysis that can be performed field, especially for healthcare, environmental monitoring, food quality control. For this reason, number publications field grown...
Electrically active field-effect transistors (FET) based biosensors are of paramount importance in life science applications, as they offer direct, fast, and highly sensitive label-free detection capabilities several biomolecules specific interest. In this work, we report a detailed investigation on surface functionalization covalent immobilization biomarkers using biocompatible ethanolamine poly(ethylene glycol) derivate coatings, compared to the conventional approaches silica monoliths,...
Immunological methods to detect SARS-CoV-2 seroconversion in humans are important track COVID-19 cases and the humoral response infections immunization future vaccines. The aim of this work was develop a simple chromogenic magnetic bead-based immunoassay which allows rapid, inexpensive, quantitative detection human antibodies against serum, plasma, or blood. Recombinant 6xHis-tagged Nucleocapsid protein mobilized on surface Ni2+ beads challenged with serum blood samples obtained from...
Abstract This work presents a simple, fast and low‐cost method for simultaneous determination of acetylsalicylic acid (ASA), without alkaline hydrolysis caffeine (CF) in pharmaceutical formulations using boron‐doped diamond as the working electrode through differential pulse voltammetry. A good repeatability was reached 20 measurements, with low relative standard deviation less than 1.0 %. The calibration curves presented great linear correlation coefficient both drugs ( R =0.999) limit...
This work describes the synthesis of 1,2,3-triazole amino acid-derived-3-O-galactosides 1-6 and di-lactose-derived glycoconjugate 7 as potential galectin-3 inhibitors. The target compounds were synthesized by Cu(I)-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition reaction ('click chemistry') between azido-derived acids N3-ThrOBn, N3-PheOBn, N3-N-Boc-TrpOBn, N3-N-Boc-LysOBn, N3-O-tBu-AspOBn N3-l-TyrOH, corresponding alkyne-based sugar 3-O-propynyl-GalOMe, well click chemistry azido-lactose 2-propynyl...
Abstract Uric acid (UA), a product of purine nucleotide degradation able to initiate an immune response, represents breakpoint in the evolutionary history humans, when uricase, enzyme required for UA cleavage, was lost. Despite being inert human cells, its soluble form (sUA) can increase level interleukin-1β (IL-1β) murine macrophages. We, therefore, hypothesized that recognition sUA is achieved by Naip1-Nlrp3 inflammasome platform. Through structural modelling predictions and transcriptome...
While point-of-care (POC) biosensors have enormous potential to help guide and inform clinical decisions at a patient's location, the translation of fundamental, applied, proof-of-concept into commercial products is complex.
Growth factors (GFs) are the unique signaling molecules that enable constant communication and feedback between cells, modulating cell behavior maintaining structure function of tissues. Traditional methods to detect quantify GFs, such as ELISA, offer high specificity but usually costly, present lower limits detection, typically require sample processing, time-consuming. Electrochemical sensing emerges a promising alternative due their rapid responses easy operation; however, they prone...
Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) nanotubes (PEDOT-NTs) were electrochemically synthesized onto a stainless steel mesh electrode followed by one-pot electrodeposition of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) at the nanotubular surface. The hybrid nanomaterial has shown remarkable electrochemical properties with diminishment charge transfer resistance besides possibility further modification thiol bonding AuNPs. modified electrodes deeply characterized techniques, in special impedance spectroscopy, which...
This work describes the highly sensitive detection of organophosphorus pesticides employing cobalt(II) 4,4,4,4-tetrasulfo-phthalocyanine (CoTSPc) macrocycle complex, carbon nanotubes (CNT), and 1-methyl-3-octylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate (OMIM[BF4]). The technique is based on enzyme acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibition. composite was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, amperometry. AChE immobilized electrode surface...
An immunosensor was developed using a SAM of an alkanethiol associated with PAMAM(G4) dendrimers based on surface plasmon resonance (SPR) to enhance the sensitivity for troponin T detection in blood samples. The feasibility three-dimensional platforms development immunosensors demonstrated by evaluating three different generations these (G3, G4, and G5) detect T. results showed efficiency 3D anchoring biomolecules, amplifying sandwich assay good performance detection, secondary monoclonal...
In the present study, surface plasmon resonance (SPR) and quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) techniques were employed to kinetically evaluate binding affinity of a new recombinant chimeric protein (CP10) toward anti-Leishmania infantum antibodies for immunodiagnostics visceral leishmaniasis (VL). This was formed by union in same artificial coding DNA ten different peptides, which showed themselves reactive positive canine serum VL. Using CP10 enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA), it...
In this work we demonstrate the use of a dielectric barrier discharge plasma for treatment SU-8. The resulting hydrophilic surface displays 5° contact angle and (0.40 ± 0.012) nm roughness. Using technique also present proof concept IgG prostate specific antigen biodetection on thin layer SU-8 over gold via plasmon resonance detection.
