Abstract Melanocytes of the hair follicle produce melanin and are essential in determining differences color. Pigment cell-specific MELanocyte Protein (PMEL17) plays a crucial role melanogenesis. One critical steps is amyloid-like functional oligomerization PMEL17. Beta Site APP Cleaving Enzyme-2 (BACE2) γ-secretase have been shown to be key players generating proteolytic fragments The β-secretase (BACE1) responsible for generation amyloid-β (Aβ) brain therefore proposed as therapeutic...

SUMMARY Recurrence of peste des petits ruminants (PPR) was diagnosed in the United Arabian Emirates several wild confirmed by morphological, immunohistochemical, serological and molecular findings. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that virus strain belongs to lineage IV, which is different some previously isolated PPR strains from Peninsula. This study shows may play an important epidemiological role as source for domestic small ruminants.

Objectives: Theiler’s murine encephalomyelitis virus (TMEV) infection of mice is a widely used animal model for demyelinating disorders, such as multiple sclerosis (MS). The aim the present study was to identify topographical differences TMEV spread and demyelination in brain experimentally infected susceptible SJL/J resistant C57BL/6 mice. Methods: Demyelination confirmed by Luxol fast blue cresyl violet staining...

Cementoma is a very rare odontogenic neoplasm of mesenchymal origin. Clinically, in 3 horses, multiple bony enlargements the upper and lower jaw extending into oral cavity were observed. Radiographically, multiple, well-circumscribed, radiopaque masses surrounding roots incisors or an premolar tooth present. Due to malocclusion local pain, single teeth extracted each case. Grossly, hard grayish-white mass root premolars was identified. Histopathologically, tumors consisted excessive...

Currently, several immunotherapies and BACE (Beta Site APP Cleaving Enzyme) inhibitor approaches are being tested in the clinic for treatment of Alzheimer's disease. A crucial mechanism-related safety concern is exacerbation microhemorrhages, which already present majority Alzheimer patients. GM(1)-gangliosidosis is a lysosomal storage disease that inherited as an autosomal recessive disorder, predominantly caused by structural defects in the beta-galactosidase gene (GLB1). The molecular cause of Alaskan huskies was investigated and novel 19-bp duplication exon 15 GLB1 identified. comprised positions +1688-+1706 cDNA. It partially disrupted potential splicing enhancer (ESE), leading to skipping fraction transcripts. Thus, mutation expression two different mRNAs from mutant...

Abstract G M1 ‐gangliosidosis is a lysosomal storage disorder caused by deficiency of ß‐galactosidase activity. Human GM1‐gangliosidosis has been classified into three forms according to the age clinical onset and specific biochemical parameters. In present study, canine model for type II late infantile human was investigated ‘ in vitro ’ detail. For better understanding molecular pathogenesis underlying study focused on analysis events subsequent intracellular protein trafficking...
