Recoverin is a member of the EF-hand family calcium-binding proteins involved in transduction light by vertebrate photoreceptors. also was identified as an autoantigen degenerative disease retina known cancer-associated retinopathy (CAR), paraneoplastic syndrome whereby immunological events lead to degeneration photoreceptors some individuals with cancer. In this study, we demonstrate that recoverin expressed lung tumor CAR patient but not similar tumors obtained from without associated...
Active immunization of guinea pigs and rabbits with outer membrane proteins (OMP) isolated from Shigella flexneri 3a sonnei phase I protected the animals against keratoconjunctivitis shigellosa induced homologous or heterologous strain. Protection was also achieved in after passive anti-OMP immune serum. lipopolysaccharide S. did not protect shigellosa.
Lipopolysaccharides (LPS) of 33 strains Hafnia alvei were isolated and purified. LPS content the dry bacterial mass ranged from 1.2 to 4.5%. All examined lipopolysaccharides contained glucose, glucosamine, heptose, 3-deoxy-octulosonic acid often galactose. Rhamnose, mannose, galactosamine, mannosamine unidentified amino sugars found in some H. strains. Sialic was present one strain. d-3-Hydroxybutyryl groups also identified 5 this genus. SDS-PAGE presented paper. According these results two...
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is frequently accompanied by visual symptoms including those related to retinal disorders. Since they may be a consequence of an autoimmune reaction, we examined whether sera patients with diagnosed MS and changes in visual-evoked potentials contain antibodies against antigens (retAgs). Immunoblot analysis revealed that recognized mainly 46-kD antigen, 41-kD arrestin, smaller extent also 70-, 56-, 43-, 36-kD proteins. Patients whose showed the highest reactivity 41-...
Shigella flexneri 3a is one of the five major strains genus responsible for dysentery, especially among children, in regions high poverty and poor sanitation. The outer membrane proteins (OMP) this bacterium elicit immunological responses are considered a prime target vaccine development. When injected into mice they protective response against lethal dose pathogen. OMPs from S. were isolated resolved by two-dimension-SDS-PAGE. Two 38-kDa spots particular interest since our earlier studies...
The study evaluates the survivability and storage stability of seven Trichoderma strains belonging to species: T. harzianum (1), atroviride (4), virens (2) after lyophilization their solid state cultures on wheat straw. Biomass was freeze-dried with without addition maltodextrin. Furthermore, in order determine ability tested preserve selected technological features, biosynthesis extracellular hydrolases (cellulases, xylanases, polygalacturonases) a 3-month lyophilizates investigated....
l−argininato copper(II) complexes have been intensively investigated in a variety of diseases due to their therapeutic potential. Here we report the results comprehensive structural studies (ESI−MS, NIR−VIS−UV, EPR) on arising aqueous solutions two ternary with molecular formulas from crystal structures, [Cu(l−Arg)2(NCS)](NCS)·H2O (1) and [Cu(l−Arg)(NCS)2] (2) (l−Arg = l−arginine). Reference systems, Cu(II)/l−Arg/NCS− as well binary Cu(II)/NCS− Cu(II)/l−Arg, were studied parallel by...
Enolase, is a glycolytic enzyme ubiquitous in higher organisms, where it forms tissue specific dimers of isoforms, also found the cytoplasm fermentative bacteria. The aim this work was to identify enolase-like proteins cell wall some Gram-negative bacteria using antibodies against human β-enolase, an isoenzyme skeletal and heart muscles. Cell outer membrane protein (OMP) preparations were obtained from 9 strains Enterobacteriaceae one Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Specific enzymatic enolase...
Cancer-associated retinopathy (CAR) is a paraneoplastic neurological syndrome resulting in progressive loss of vision and clinical signs retinal degeneration. It associated with various types cancer also considered to be an autoimmune disorder that involves cross-reaction between autoantibodies proteins. The aim this study was establish whether immunoreactivity antigens (RAs) observed patients breast accompanied by any visual impairments.Sera 295 diagnosed were screened for the presence...
Intestinal infections caused by rod-shaped bacteria of the Enterobacteriaceae genus are one major health hazards in countries where sanitation standards low. Strains Shigella, Salmonella, Escherichia and Yersinia responsible for diarrhea, severe bacillary dysentery, typhoid, other intestinal diseases, as well genitourinary tract blood infections. According to WHO there 4.5 billion cases every year, which 1.9 million end death. This makes third terms human disease mortality. In this work we...
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) can improve chronic wound healing; however, recent studies suggest that the therapeutic effect of MSCs is mediated mainly through growth factors and cytokines secreted by these cells, referred to as MSC secretome. To overcome difficulties related translation cell therapy into clinical use such efficacy, safety cost, we propose a hydrogel loaded with secretome from recently established human adipose tissue mesenchymal line (HATMSC2) potential treatment for...
In earlier works we have described that mice immunized with outer membrane protein OmpC survive the challenge live Shigella flexnerii 3a. We also identified conformational epitope of this protein, was recognized by antibodies. The aim current work to investigate whether synthetic homologs can elicit immunological response sufficient in protecting against shigellosis. Several linear peptides containing RYDERY motif were synthesized and conjugated poly-lysine. These conjugates appeared be poor...
Objective: Autoantibodies to various neuronal proteins frequently accompany lung cancer and their appearance may precede symptoms. In this study we examined which retinal antigens (RAs) are recognized by sera of patients with whether the occurrence serum antibodies particular RAs is characteristic for in comparison a noncancer disease. Methods: Sera 72 non-small-cell (NSCLC), 29 small-cell (SCLC), 27 sarcoidosis (S), 32 healthy donors were immunoblotting...
Geotrichum candidum yeasts are proposed as a starter culture during malting. They have double positive effect on the process. eliminate fungal pathogenic microflora and improve technological properties of finished product, malt. Among published research little or no information can be found considering biosynthesis hydrolytic enzymes. Most data is related to production lipases, proteases cellulases. This paper examines enzymology number G. strains. The main focus within evaluation process...
Calcium protein placental homolog (Capl) is an S-100-related calcium-binding selectively expressed in cell lines that have been induced to grow or differentiate. In addition, the expression of Capl correlates with induction metastatic phenotype tumor and transformation normal cells by activated oncogenes chemical carcinogens. Although not previously associated nervous system, this study, was purified from bovine neural retina a combination phenyl-Sepharose organomercurial chromatography. The...
The O-specific polysaccharide of Citrobacter braakii PCM 1531 (serogroup O6) was isolated by mild acid hydrolysis the lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and found to contain d-fucose, l-rhamnose, 4-deoxy-d-arabino-hexose O-acetyl groups in molar ratios 2 : 1 1. On basis methylation analysis 1H 13C NMR spectroscopy data, structure branched tetrasaccharide repeating unit established. Using various serological assays, it demonstrated that LPS strain is not related serologically other known...
The anti-Shigella vaccine is one of the WHO's top priorities. Every year disease kills more than 200,000 people worldwide and poses a serious threat to children under 5 years age elderly. Increasing antibiotic resistance limitations in diagnostics emphasize need develop an effective vaccine. Recent research clinical trials report multiple approaches used Shigella-vaccine development. However, despite efforts researchers, pharmaceutical companies health care organizations, there no licensed...
