Importance
Most older patients with esophageal cancer cannot complete the standard concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT). An effective and tolerable regimen for is needed.
Objective
To evaluate efficacy toxic effects of CCRT S-1 vs radiotherapy (RT) alone in cancer.
Design, Setting, Participants
A randomized, open-label, phase 3 clinical trial was conducted at 23 Chinese centers between June 1, 2016, August 31, 2018. The study enrolled 298 aged 70 to 85 years....

Abstract Purpose: In this multicenter phase 3 trial, the efficacy and safety of 60 Gy 50 doses delivered with modern radiotherapy technology for definitive concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) in patients inoperable esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) were evaluated. Patients Methods: pathologically confirmed stage IIA‒IVA ESCC randomized 1:1 to receive conventional fractionated or tumor regional lymph nodes. Concurrent weekly chemotherapy (docetaxel 25 mg/m2; cisplatin mg/m2) two...

Stable, room-temperature ferromagnetism in carbon— more precisely, highly oriented pyrolytic graphite — with Curie temperature as high 460 K is reported. The magnetization can be easily tuned by controlling the low-energy carbon ion implantation dose used to create samples. Theory indicates that ferromagnetic order likely results from itinerant π-electrons defects (see figure).

We investigated the role of competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) network in development and progression pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PAAD).We analyzed expression profiles PAAD normal tissues from multiple GEO databases identified 457 differentially expressed circular RNAs (DEcircRNAs), 19 microRNAs (DEmiRNAs) 1993 mRNAs (DEmRNAs).We constructed a ceRNA consisting 4 DEcircRNAs, 3 DEmiRNAs 149 DEmRNAs that regulates NF-kappa B, PI3K-Akt, Wnt signaling pathways. We then validated five hub genes,...

Background: The relationship between the interleukin 17 (IL-17) family of cytokines and breast cancer has been widely studied in recent years. Many studies have revealed increased levels cytokine IL-17A estrogen receptor (ER)-negative or triple-negative cancer. Upregulation signaling is associated with expression programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) death-ligand (PD-L1) low ER may elevate infiltration CD8+ T cells tumor tissue. This study aims to determine whether downregulates PD-1/PD-L1,...

Ethacrynic acid (EA) is a glutathione S-transferase P1-1 (GST P1-1) inhibitor with weak antiproliferative ability in tumor cells. By use of the principle bioisosterism, series novel EA oxadiazole analogues were designed and synthesized. The structure−activity relationships inhibiting GST activity cell proliferation those investigated human leukemia HL-60 Our data revealed that had improved most them similar or better inhibitory effects on than EA. Compound 6u was one potent agents without...

The incidence of resistant Candida isolates has increased continuously in recent decades, especially albicans. To overcome this resistance, research on antifungal sensitizers attracted considerable attention. Linezolid was found to inhibit the growth Pythium insidiosum and synergize with amphotericin B against Cryptococcus neoformans. objective study determine interactions linezolid azoles C. albicans vitro vivo. Abstract Purpose The underlying mechanisms of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) have not been fully investigated, and effective biomarkers for HCC are still needed to be explored. Therefore, our study sought thoroughly examine the clinical significance biological functions ribosomal protein L32 (RPL32) in by coupling bioinformatic methods with experimental analysis. Methods To determine RPL32 , analyses were performed expression patient samples correlate survival rates, genetic alterations,...

The variation of ferromagnetism induced by 12 C + ion implantation in highly oriented pyrolytic graphite was systematically studied using Raman spectroscopy conjunction with magnetic moment measurements and annealing treatments. It found that the magnetization implanted sample closely correlated density defects, which characterized spectra, produced implantation. is clear consecutive steps at different energies to increase vacancy defects layer, increases number until fourth step...
