Fibroblast growth factor (FGF) 21, a structural relative of FGF23 that regulates phosphate homeostasis, is regulator insulin-independent glucose transport in adipocytes and plays role the regulation body weight. It also ketogenesis adaptive responses to starvation. We report reconstituted receptor activation assay system using BaF3 cells, which do not endogenously express any type FGF (FGFR) or heparan sulfate proteoglycan, FGF21 alone does activate FGFRs betaKlotho required for two specific...

The highly ordered process of wound healing involves the coordinated regulation cell proliferation and migration tissue remodeling, predominantly by polypeptide growth factors. Consequently, slowing that occurs in aged may be related to changes activity these various regulatory To gain additional insight into issues, we quantified absolute copy numbers mRNAs encoding all fibroblast factors (FGFs), their receptors (FGFRs) two other dorsal skin young mice during full-thickness excisional...

A 61-year-old man had osteosclerotic myeloma that was localized in the eleventh thoracic vertebral body and associated with sensorimotor polyneuropathy, skin hyperpigmentation, edema, hypertrichosis, gynecomastia, white nails. Cases of without polyneuropathy literature were reviewed special reference to accompanying dermatologic endocrinologic signs symptoms. We assume cutaneous nails are causally related each other a remote effect myeloma. Quantitative histologic analysis two sural nerves...

By a tblastn search with β1,4-galactosyltransferases as query sequences, we found an expressed sequence tag that showed similarity in β1,4-glycosyltransferase motifs. The full-length complementary DNA was obtained by method of 5′-rapid amplification ends. predicted open reading frame encodes typical type II membrane protein comprising 543 amino acids, the which highly homologous to chondroitin sulfate N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase (CSGalNAcT-1), and designated this novel enzyme...

The extracellular effect of fibroblast growth factor-12 (FGF12) remains unknown because FGF12 cannot activate any factor receptors (FGFRs), and is not currently thought to be released from cells. We reported previously that plays an intracellular role in the inhibition radiation-induced apoptosis. In this study, we demonstrated recombinant was able internalized into cytoplasm a rat intestinal epithelial cell line, IEC6, process dependent on two novel cell-penetrating peptide (CPP) domains...

The effects of various types alginic acid consisting l-guluronic acids (G) and d-mannuronic (M) on hyaluronidase mast cell degranulation were examined. Alginic with an M/G ratio 1.0 exhibited the strongest inhibition both activities, higher molecular weight 150 to 370 kDa being preferable in cases. Esterification carboxyl residue enhanced latter activity.

Thereafter, intra-aneurysmal blood simultaneously aspirated through catheter placed ICA. Exposure proximal end neck mandatory for successful clipping. This accomplished extensive...
