Effects of Nb 2 O 5 dopant on the radiation response barium gallo-germanate (BGG) glass are studied mainly by electron paramagnetic resonance and absorption spectroscopy. Owing to 5+ ↔Nb 3+ interconversion in doped samples, formations Ge-related non-bridging oxygen hole center defects after γ -ray irradiation inhibited. Thereby, can enhance resistance BGG glass, 1.0% concentration is best.
