We describe an outbreak of echovirus 18 infection involving 10 patients in our neonatal intensive care unit (an attack rate 33%). The mean age at the onset illness was 26.8 days. Eighty percent were preterm infants. All discharged home without sequelae. There no differences gestation age, birth weight, delivery mode, use antibiotics, and parenteral nutrition between enterovirus (EV) group non-EV group, but breastfeeding significantly higher EV group. Separation reinforcement hand-washing...
Background: Premature birth is a significant health care burden. Xenon (Xe) general anesthetic with neuroprotective effects. Objectives: Here, we investigate the role of Xe in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)- and hypoxia-ischemia (HI)-induced white matter damage (WMD) model. Methods: Three-day-old Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into sham group (group A, n =...
Preeclampsia is a significant contributor for maternal or fetal morbidity and mortality, which characterized by reduced invasion capacity of trophoblasts regulated extracellular matrix (ECM). It still under investigation whether chorionic villus-derived mesenchymal stem cells (CVMSC) could affect the functionality trophoblasts. In this study, CVMSC-derived exosomes were isolated; their effect on was investigated based CCK8 assay, migration apoptosis detection. And underlying mechanism using...
This study aimed to investigate the correlation between serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D) levels and retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) in premature infants one month after birth.
X-linked intellectual developmental disorder is a rare genetic disease, manifested as heart impairment, and disorders. We report male infant who presented with dyspnea after birth. Physical examination on admission revealed poor responsiveness, deep eye sockets, small mandible, abnormalities of the outer ears, reduced limb muscle tone. The child was moaning shortness breath positive three-concave sign without pulmonary rales. sounds were weak grade 2/6 diastolic murmur. Echocardiography...
Abstract Objective As the predominant complication in preterm infants, Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia (BPD) necessitates accurate identification of infants at risk and expedited therapeutic interventions for an improved prognosis. This study evaluates potential Monosaccharide Composite (MC) enriched with environmental information from circulating glycans as a diagnostic biomarker early-onset BPD, and, concurrently, appraises BPD premature neonates. Materials methods The incorporated 234 neonates...
Congenital nephrotic syndrome (CNS), which is defined as heavy proteinuria, hypoalbuminemia, hyperlipidemia and edema, most caused by monogenic defects in structural proteins of the glomerular filtration barrier kidneys. 22q11.2 duplication was a chromosomal disease with variable clinical featuresranging from normal to mental retardation congenital defects. Co-occurrence two genetic disorders single patient rare. The proband born at 36 weeks gestational age spontaneously weighed 2350 g...
Objective To compare the diagnostic results and values among Duke criteria, St Thomas modified criteria domestic for diagnosis of infective endocarditis(IE) in children. Methods Forty-five children were clinically diagnosed IE, surgical or pathologic autopsy findings served as golden IE.The classified by respectively, so to sensitivity specificity accuracy all IE. Results During forty-five whom 32 cases with IE confirmed findings; 13 ruled out from 100%, but 92.3% 45 26 negative...
Objective To explore the high-risk factors of metabolic bone disease(MBD)in premature infants by retrospective analysis clinical data so as to provide evidence for optimal management. Methods Clinical with birth weight 500 IU/L and blood phosphorus <1.5 mmol/L were selected MBD group <1 g randomly non-MBD group. General data, pulmonary surfactant, continuous positive airway pressure, mechanical ventilation, start time enteral nutrition, parenteral nutrition (PN) time, breast feeding...
Abstract Background Premature birth is a significant health care burden. White matter damage (WMD) leading cause of acute mortality and chronic morbidity in preterm birth. Xenon(Xe) general anesthetic with neuroprotective effects. We aimed to reveal the molecular basis mechanism Xe intervention treating white by detecting expression level microRNA 210 (miR-210) hypoxia inducible factor 1α (HIF-1α) brain tissues 3-day-old neonatal rats. Methods Three-day-old SD rats were randomly divided into...
Abstract Background: White matter damage is a leading cause of acute mortality and chronic morbidity in preterm birth. Xenon general anesthetic with neuroprotective effects. We aimed to reveal the molecular basis mechanism Xe intervention treating white by detecting expression level miR-210 HIF-1α brain tissues 3-day-old neonatal rats. Methods: Three-day-old SD rats were randomly divided into sham group (Group A, n=24), LPS +HI B, n=24) LPS+HI+Xe (n=72). was given gas inhalation for three...
Abstract Background: Premature infant is a significant health care burden. White matter damage (WMD) leading cause of acute mortality and chronic morbidity in preterm. Xenon (Xe) intervention was given to the 3-day-old neonatal rats with brain white injury. By detecting changes expression level microRNA210 hypoxia inducible factor 1α (HIF-1α) tissue before after xenon intervention, we can research molecular basis mechanism neuroprotective on effect rats. Methods: Three-day-old SD were...
Abstract Background : Pompe disease is a rare autosomal recessive disease.Acid alpha-glucosidase deficiency leads to glycogen storage in lysosomes, causing skeletal muscle, cardiac muscle and smooth lesions.Pompe progressive the severity of depends on age onset. The most severe form, known as classic infantile (IOPD), characterized by onset before 12 months. However, few cases intrauterine have been reported. Case presentation The proband was born at 40 weeks+3 days gestational admitted our...
Abstract Objective: Bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) is the most complication of premature infants, accurate identification at-risk infants and early intervention are key to improve outcomes. The objective this study explore a multifactorial model predict risk BPD. Materials methods: A total 148 neonates with gestational age ≤ 32 weeks were recruited. Clinical data serum samples at 1week after birth collected. Content free monosaccharides degraded analyzed by high-performance liquid...
