Abstract New developments in liquid scintillators, high-efficiency, fast photon detectors, and chromatic sorting have opened up the possibility for building a large-scale detector that can discriminate between Cherenkov scintillation signals. Such could reconstruct particle direction species using light while also having excellent energy resolution low threshold of scintillator detector. Situated deep underground, utilizing new techniques computing reconstruction, this achieve unprecedented...
A radioluminescent (RL) dosimetric system, based on a SiO2 optical fiber with the core doped by Ce3+ ions as luminescent activators has been investigated. Structural and properties of have studied Raman, refractive index, RL scintillation time decay measurements, compared to those obtained bulk material. The response composite made short portion active Ce-doped coupled long commercial one investigated x-ray irradiation. linear intensity found in dose rate interval 6×10−3–40mGy∕s together...
Various fundamental characteristics of Y2O3 ceramics, such as optical transmittance, reflectivity, absorption coefficient, refractive index, and dielectric constant, were investigated. Furthermore, in order to evaluate the possible application this material γ-ray scintillator, other radiation responses, like α-ray excited emission spectrum, pulse height light yield, nonproportionality, energy resolution, scintillation decay curves obtained. The yield ceramics was evaluated about 1.13 times...
The highly visible and infrared (up to 6 μm) transparent Sr3Al2O6 polycrystalline ceramic was obtained by full crystallization of the corresponding glass composition. synthesis direct congruent processes are described, material transparency is discussed in light its microstructure. This new exhibits a high density (i.e., complete absence porosity) micrometer-scale crystallites with very thin grain boundaries. These microstructural characteristics, inherent preparation method, minimize...
The role of charge carrier trapping in determining radioluminescence (RL) efficiency increase during prolonged irradiation scintillators has been studied by using YPO4:Ce,Nd as a model material. Nd3+ ions act efficient electron traps minimizing the intrinsic defects. Different Nd contents were considered order to point out correlation between trap concentration and detected RL dose dependence. measurements function temperature clarified thermal stability shape magnitude such effect. We...
We construct a family of general type surfaces with $q=4$, $p_g=6$ and $K^2=24$. These enjoy some interesting properties: they are Lagrangian in their Albanese variety canonical map is $2:1$ onto degree $12$ surface $\mathbb P^5$ $44$ even nodes.
Abstract We compute the gonality and dimension of Brill–Noether loci $W^{1}_{d}(C)$ for curves in a non-primitive linear system simple abelian surface, adapting vector bundles techniques à la Lazarsfeld originally introduced with $K3$ surfaces. As corollary, we obtain Green’s conjecture general on Dedicated to my Grandparents
We investigate scintillation properties and energy trapping processes in Pr ‐doped Lu 3 Al 5 O 12 ( : AG ) optical ceramics, specifically focusing on the effects of sintering aids. Ceramics with good transmittance comparable those single crystals were obtained without use Their introduction caused a transparency improvement, accompanied, however, by deterioration terms light yield time decay. interpret results, discussing role aliovalent agents formation point defects acting as traps...
For the next generation of calorimeters, designed to improve energy resolution hadrons and jets measurements, there is a need for highly granular detectors requiring peculiar geometries. Heavy inorganic scintillators allow compact homogeneous calorimeter designs with excellent dual-readout abilities. These are however not usually suited geometries high aspect ratio because important losses observed during light propagation. Elongated single crystals (fibers) Lutetium Aluminium garnet (LuAG,...
The radioluminescence (RL) properties of Ce-doped silica glasses prepared by sol−gel method were investigated as a function the dopant amount in wide range concentrations (Ce:Si molar ratios from 1 × 10-5 to 5 10-2). effects xerogel densification temperature and postdensification thermal treatment also considered. In order understand microstructural features governing Ce3+ luminescence efficiency, optical absorption measurements ultraviolet, visible, infrared regions time-resolved...
Single -crystal growth of Tm3+-doped Y2O3, Sc2O3, and Lu2O3 sesquioxides, with a melting point around 2400 °C, by the micropulling down technique is reported. Crystal quality composition crystals were evaluated rocking curve energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) analyses, respectively. Optical properties including optical transmittance photoluminescence decay profiles also examined. Furthermore, scintillation performance pulse height spectra radio-luminescence under α-ray γ-ray excitation was evaluated.
Single crystals of CsI, CsI:Tl, and CsI:Tl,Bi were grown by the vertical Bridgman method. We studied effect Bi3+ codoping on CsI:Tl X-ray-induced afterglow. Thermally stimulated luminescence measurements carried out in order to investigate role traps. The results showed a remarkable reduction afterglow, about an magnitude, trap concentration Bi codoping. These improvements could be related possible compensation intrinsic nonstoichiometry defects.
Abstract In this study, the spectral emission of Eu 3+ -doped silica optical fibres is investigated under irradiation with photons and electrons different energies, field sizes orientations, in order to discover origin stem effect evaluate its influence on radioluminescence (RL) shape experimental conditions.
