We have analyzed data taken in the CERN narrow-band neutrino and antineutrino beams with regard to "high-$y$ anomaly" observed by previous experiments at Fermilab. At energies between 30 200 GeV, $\overline{\ensuremath{\nu}}$ $\ensuremath{\nu}$ charged-current cross-section ratios muon-inelasticity distributions disagree earlier results. In particular, there is no evidence for energy-dependent effects which constitute an important aspect of alleged anomaly.

Abstract The upgrade of the CMS experiment for high luminosity operation LHC comprises replacement current endcap calorimeter by a granularity sampling (HGCAL). electromagnetic section HGCAL is based on silicon sensors interspersed between lead and copper (or tungsten) absorbers. hadronic uses layers stainless steel as an absorbing medium active in regions radiation exposure, scintillator tiles directly read out photomultipliers remaining regions. As part development detector its readout...

Abstract This paper describes the experience with calibration, reconstruction and evaluation of timing capabilities CMS HGCAL prototype in beam tests 2018. The calibration procedure includes multiple steps corrections ranging from tens nanoseconds to a few hundred picoseconds. performance is studied using signals positron particles energies between 20 GeV 300 GeV. as function particle energy against an external reference well standalone by comparing two different halves prototype. resolution...

The cyclotron resonance of electrons and holes in red HgI2 has been observed below 4.2K using a cross modulation technique at microwave frequency 137 GHz. Cold polaron masses carriers moving within the layer planes were found to be me perpendicular =(0.37+or-0.02)m0 mh =(1.03+or-0.10)m0, where m0 is mass free electron. Masses parallel crystal c axis deduced from combination mobility measurements, as me//=(0.31+or-0.03)m0 mh//=(2.06+or-0.51)m0. Polaron effects are discussed carrier band...

The high value of K2 associated with shear horizontal waves launched by an interdigital transducer (IET) on 41' rotated Y-cut Lithium Niobate (an SSBW cut) makes the launching and propagation these particular interest. Theoretical predictions velocity attenuation leaky surface skimming bulk a free under metal film water are presented. Experimental results confirm predicted slowing Leaky wave about 10% 5% water. Experiments periodic grating reveal that only single mode propagates if it is fed...

Abstruct-Surface skimming bulk waves may be strongly reflected by the sides of a crystal device structure. The range angle incidence over which reflections are strong and mode conversion can occur is interest for utilization suppression in devices. Theoretical results presented lithium niobate, tantalate, quartz, giving amplitude, phase shift, reflection angle, power generated when surface wave incident on free, planar at various angles incidence. In addition, effect reflectivity thin metal...
