We present results from the first phase of KamLAND-Zen double-beta decay experiment, corresponding to an exposure 89.5 kg yr $^{136}\mathrm{Xe}$. obtain a lower limit for neutrinoless half-life ${T}_{1/2}^{0\ensuremath{\nu}}>1.9\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{25}\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{yr}$ at 90% C.L. The combined and EXO-200 give ${T}_{1/2}^{0\ensuremath{\nu}}>3.4\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{25}\text{ C.L., which corresponds Majorana neutrino mass...
We present results from the KamLAND-Zen double-beta decay experiment based on an exposure of 77.6 days with 129 kg $^{136}$Xe. The measured two-neutrino half-life $^{136}$Xe is $T_{1/2}^{2\nu} = 2.38 \pm 0.02(stat) 0.14(syst) \times 10^{21}$ yr, consistent a recent measurement by EXO-200. also obtain lower limit for neutrinoless half-life, $T_{1/2}^{0\nu} > 5.7 10^{24}$ yr at 90% confidence level (C.L.), which corresponds to almost five-fold improvement over previous limits.
The multiplicities of charged secondaries in proton-proton collisions were determined using the split-field-magnet detector at CERN Intersecting Storage Rings (ISR). Measurements are presented on multiplicity distributions both for inelastic and non-single-diffractive events four different energies $\sqrt{s}=30.4, 44.5, 52.6, \mathrm{and} 62.2$ GeV. results reported here represent first high-statistics measurement ISR with a magnetic covering nearly full solid angle.
The International Linear Collider (ILC) is on the table now as a new global energy-frontier accelerator laboratory taking data in 2030s. ILC addresses key questions for our current understanding of particle physics. It based proven technology. Its experiments will challenge Standard Model physics and provide window to look beyond it. This document brings story up date, emphasizing its strong motivation, readiness construction, opportunity it presents US community.
We have measured the differential cross section for $\overline{p}p$ and $\mathrm{pp}$ elastic scattering at $\sqrt{s}=53$ GeV in interval $0.5<|t|<4.0$ ${(\mathrm{G}\mathrm{e}\mathrm{V}/\mathit{c})}^{2}$ CERN intersecting storage rings using split-field magnet detector. The shape of differs significantly between region $1.1<|t|<1.5$ ${(\mathrm{G}\mathrm{e}\mathrm{V}/\mathit{c})}^{2}$, with data showing a less pronounced dip structure than data.
We present limits on Majoron-emitting neutrinoless double-beta decay modes based an exposure of 112.3 days with 125 kg Xe-136. In particular, a lower limit the ordinary (spectral index n = 1) half-life Xe-136 is obtained as T_{1/2}^{0\nu\chi^{0}} > 2.6 x 10^{24} yr at 90% C.L., factor five more stringent than previous limits. The corresponding upper effective Majoron-neutrino coupling, using range available nuclear matrix calculations, <g_{ee}> < (0.8 - 1.6) 10^{-5}. This excludes previously...
The KamLAND-Zen 800 experiment is searching for the neutrinoless double-beta decay of $^{136}$Xe by using $^{136}$Xe-loaded liquid scintillator. scintillator enclosed inside a balloon made thin, transparent, low-radioactivity film that we call Inner Balloon (IB). IB, apart from guaranteeing containment, also allows to minimize background cosmogenic muon-spallation products and $^{8}$B solar neutrinos. Indeed these events could contribute total counts in region interest around Q-value...
The wavelength of the pionic $4f\ensuremath{-}3d$ transition in $^{24}\mathrm{Mg}$ has been measured with a curved-crystal spectrometer. new value pion-electron mass ratio is deduced to be $\frac{{m}_{{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}}}{{m}_{{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}}}=273.12677(71)$. consequence this for rest muon neutrino discussed.
