The C-reactive protein (CRP)-albumin-lymphocyte (CALLY) index is a novel inflammation-based biomarker, which has been associated with long-term outcomes in patients hepatocellular carcinoma. We aimed to investigate whether the CALLY can predict prognosis for distal cholangiocarcinoma after pancreaticoduodenectomy.
Background/Aim The aim of this study was to investigate the prognostic impact inflammatory burden index (IBI), a novel inflammation-based biomarker, in patients with colorectal liver metastases (CRLM) after hepatic resection. Patients and Methods One hundred fifty CRLM who underwent hepatectomy were retrospectively analyzed. IBI defined as C-reactive protein × neutrophil count/lymphocyte count. relationship overall survival investigated by univariate multivariate analyses. Results...
Abstract Background Although osteopenia has been associated with poor outcomes in patients hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), the oncological impact of occult vertebral fracture (OVF) not investigated. Methods The study comprised 235 who had undergone primary hepatic resection for between 2008 and 2019. Osteopenia was evaluated computed tomographic measurement pixel density midvertebral core 11th thoracic vertebra. OVF defined if ratios central/anterior or central/posterior heights vertebrae,...
The aim of this study was to evaluate the utility an image display system for augmented reality in hepatobiliary surgery under laparotomy. An overlay organs, vessels, or tumor obtained using a video see-through as developed at our institute. Registration between visceral organs and surface-rendering reconstructed by preoperative computed tomography (CT) carried out with optical location sensor. Using system, we performed laparotomy patient benign biliary stricture, gallbladder carcinoma,...
We investigated the prognostic impact of osteosarcopenia, which is combination osteopenia and sarcopenia, in patients with colorectal liver metastases (CRLM) after hepatic resection.
Abstract Background In pancreaticoduodenectomy ( PD ), early ligation of the inferior pancreaticoduodenal artery IPDA ) before efferent veins has been advocated to decrease blood loss by congestion pancreatic head be resected. this study, we herein report utility identification using an augmented reality AR )‐based navigation system NS ). Methods Seven nonconsecutive patients underwent ‐based . After paired‐point matching registration, reconstructed image obtained preoperative computed...
Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate the utility navigation surgery using augmented reality technology (AR-based NS) for pancreatectomy. Methods: 3D reconstructed images from CT were created by segmentation. initial registration performed optical location sensor. superimposed onto real organs in monitor display. Of 19 patients who had undergone hepatobiliary and pancreatic AR-based NS, accuracy, visualization...
Frailty, represented by sarcopenia and osteopenia, has been associated with worse survival after hepatectomy in patients hepatocellular carcinoma. Recently, the concept term "osteosarcopenia" have proposed, which outcome several malignancies. This study included 227 who underwent elective hepatic resection for Osteopenia was evaluated computed tomographic measurement of pixel density midvertebral core 11th thoracic vertebra. The skeletal muscle index (SMI) psoas areas at third lumbar...
Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) has a poor prognosis even after curative-intent hepatic resection due to high recurrence rate. The aim of this study was investigate preoperative risk factors for early surgery ICC, which may help identify patients who need chemotherapy.
Abstract Introduction The purpose of this study was to investigate the relation between preoperative cachexia index (CXI) and long‐term outcomes in patients with colorectal liver metastases (CRLM) after hepatic resection. Method In all,118 who underwent resection for CRLM were analyzed retrospectively. relationship CXI investigated. calculated based on skeletal muscle index, serum albumin level, neutrophil–lymphocyte ratio. Results multivariate analysis showed that extrahepatic lesion...
We have reported the utility of an image display system using augmented reality (AR) technology in hepatobiliary surgery under laparotomy. Among several procedures, we herein report a novel short rigid scope and stereo-scope, both designed specifically for open abdominal navigation surgery, their clinical application pancreatic surgery. The 3D reconstructed images were obtained from preoperative computed tomography data. In our specialized operating room, after paired-point matching...
