Abstract Introduction Fever is frequently observed in critically ill patients. An independent association of fever with increased mortality has been non-neurological patients mixed febrile etiology. The and antipyretics mortality, however, may be different between infective non-infective illness. Methods We designed a prospective observational study to investigate the use antipyretic treatments without sepsis. included 1,425 consecutive adult (without neurological injury) requiring > 48...
The Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) is known to have discriminative power for patients with Mild Impairment (MCI). Recently Reserve (CR) has been introduced as a factor that compensates cognitive decline. We aimed assess whether the MoCA reflects CR. Furthermore, we assessed there were any differences in efficacy between and Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) reflecting MoCA, MMSE, Index questionnaire (CRIq) administered 221 healthy participants. Normative data associated factors of...
Idiopathic scoliosis is the most common cause of three-dimensional deformities spine. Most previous studies have been cross-sectional to estimate prevalence in general population. An age-matched, population-based study performed using nationwide databases between 2011 and 2015. The incidence rates idiopathic by age group, sex, region are identified. We also investigate pattern medical institution use surgery rate patients with scoliosis. Our results show that a total 268,372 were diagnosed...
Patients with lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS) may experience neuropathic symptoms, such as back pain, radiating and neurogenic claudication. Although the long-term outcomes of both nonsurgical surgical treatments are similar, surgery provide shortterm benefits, including improved symptoms lower risk falling. Decompression is mainly used for treatment, depending on decompression degree associated instability, combination therapy be given. Minimally invasive has been demonstrated to produce...
Abstract Melt rheology and mechanical properties in linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE)/low (LDPE), LLDPE/high (HDPE), HDPE/LDPE blends were investigated. All three miscible the melt, but LLDPE/LDPE exibiled two crystallization melting temperatures, indicating that those phase separated upon cooling from melt. The melt strength of increased with increasing molecular weight LDPE was used. blend higher than claculated a simple rule mixtures, whiele LLDPE/HDPE conformed to less mixtures prediction.
Study Design: In vitro experiment using degenerated human ligamentum flavum (LF) and various inflammatory cytokines. Objectives: To examine the effect of cytokines on LF cells to identify their roles in pathogenesis hypertrophy ossification. Summary Background Data: Spinal stenosis is caused, part, by ossification LF, which are induced degenerative processes (ie, increased collagen synthesis chondroid metaplasia) ligament fibroblasts. Degenerated intervertebral disk spontaneously produces...
The effects of higher-order acoustic modes produced by the areal discontinuities simple expansion chamber with mean flow on performance are studied. is modeled as a piston-driven circular rigid tube no losses and, using Fourier–Bessel expansion, general expression output pressure to given input uniform volume velocity obtained for whole chamber. Quantitative estimation transmission loss can be performed derived four-pole parameters, whereas characteristics chamber, result interactions...
The thermal, viscoelastic, and mechanical behaviors of three binary blends ethylene 1-octene copolymer (EOC) regarding the melt index density, one component made by Ziegler–Natta (FA RF in abbreviation commercial name) other metallocene catalysts (FM, EN PL name), have been investigated to understand molecular mechanism blends. Thermal studies reveal that two constituents exclude another during crystallization, implying a phase separation. Viscoelastic properties show single β or γ...
Abstract The rheology and morphology of four sets binary blends polyethylene synthesized with metallocene catalysis (metallocene polyethylene: MCPE) polyolefins prepared using Ziegler‐Natta catalysts have been investigated. blend systems are MCPE high density (MCPE‐HDPE), polypropylene (MCPE‐PP), poly(propylene‐co‐ethylene) (MCPE‐CoPP), poly(propylene‐co‐ethylene‐co‐1‐butylene) (MCPE‐TerPP). Cole‐Cole plots [storage melt viscosity (η′) versus loss (η″)], the dynamic storage modulus ( G ′)...
In pressurized water reactors, the fuel reloading problem has significant meaning in terms of both safety and economics. The local power peaking factor must be kept lower than a predetermined value during cycle, effective multiplication maximized to extract maximum energy. If these core parameters could obtained very short time, optimal patterns would found more effectively quickly. A fast parameter prediction system is developed using backpropagation neural network. This predicts several...
Epidemiology of Eimeria species in poultry flocks is important to increase the effectiveness vaccinations and prophylactic strategies on chicken farms. In this study, fecal samples from 356 farms were collected randomly examined for prevalence species. Through microscopic examination, it was determined that 78.7% tested positive Eimeria-infection. Seven detected all by PCR amplification internal transcribed spacer 1 (ITS-1) region with species-specific primers. E. acervulina tenella most...
The clinical and radiological results before after surgery were compared analyzed for patients with multilevel lumbar stenosis who underwent bi-portal endoscopic spine (BESS) microscopic unilateral laminotomy bilateral decompression (ULBD). We retrospectively identified 47 49 BESS ULBD, respectively, diagnosed multi-level stenosis. Clinical outcomes evaluated using the visual analog scale score both back leg pain, medication (pregabalin) use Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) scores overall...
Newly formed bullae after video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) bullectomy in primary spontaneous pneumothorax (PSP) are an important etiology for recurrence and associated with mechanical stress along the stapling line. However, distribution or pattern of VATS has not been thoroughly investigated. Our aim was to analyze following lung resection. Using finite element method analyses COMSOL Multiphysics software evaluate line, a solid ellipsoidal model constructed. Simulations were...
Biportal endoscopic spinal surgery (BESS) for the treatment of stenosis provided favorable clinical outcomes in many studies. They reported that interlaminar BESS decompression achieved effects patients with central stenosis. However, still experienced radiating pain even after conventional decompression. Therefore, a more reliable method traversing root and lateral recess areas is necessary. Hence, we investigated to better decompress both while preserving facet joints as much possible...
Pain is influenced by many factors such as personality traits and nociceptive stimuli. This study identified in patients with trigeminal neuralgia (TN) investigated the relationships between pain perception, acceptance, anxiety, depression. From March to June 2024, of 50 TN healthy controls (HC) were measured using 50-item International Personality Item Pool representation Goldberg markers for Big-Five factor structure. Patients' depression measured. The mean neuroticism scores median...
