Abstract Terminal cobalt(IV)–oxo (Co IV –O) species have been implicated as key intermediates in various cobalt-mediated oxidation reactions. Herein we report the photocatalytic generation of a mononuclear non-haem [(13-TMC)Co (O)] 2+ ( 2 ) by irradiating [Co II (13-TMC)(CF 3 SO )] + 1 presence [Ru (bpy) ] , Na S O 8 and water an oxygen source. The intermediate was also obtained reacting with artificial oxidant (that is, iodosylbenzene) characterized spectroscopic techniques. In particular,...
Two small molecule acceptors, composed of carbazole or fluorene cores and rhodanine dye ends, were synthesized their high OPV performances up to 3.08% demonstrated.
This review provides a current status report of the various n-type polymer acceptors for use as active materials in organic photovoltaic cells (OPVs). The are divided into four categories. first section this focuses on rylene diimide-based polymers, including perylene diimide, naphthalene and dithienocoronene polymers. high electron mobility good stability diimides make them suitable OPVs. second deals with fluorene benzothiadiazole-based polymers such...
An amyloidogenic peptide, amyloid-β (Aβ), has been implicated as a contributor to the neurotoxicity of Alzheimer's disease (AD) that continues present major socioeconomic burden for our society. Recently, use metal complexes capable cleaving peptides arisen an efficient tactic amyloid management; unfortunately, little reported pursue this strategy. Herein, we report novel approach validate hydrolytic cleavage divalent toward two isoforms Aβ (Aβ40 and Aβ42) tune their proteolytic activity...
Malathion is an organophosphate chemical (OPC) and a toxic contaminant that adversely impacts food quality, human health, biodiversity, the environment. Due to its small size unavailability of sensitive sensors, detection malathion remains challenging task. Often chromatographic methods employed analyze OPCs suffer from several shortcomings, including cost, immobility, laboriousness, unsuitability for point-of-care settings. Hence, developing specific diagnostic sensor quick inexpensive...
The water oxidation reaction, the most important reaction for hydrogen production and other sustainable chemistry, is efficiently catalyzed by Mn4CaO5 cluster in biological photosystem II. However, synthetic Mn-based heterogeneous electrocatalysts exhibit inferior catalytic activity at neutral pH under mild conditions. Symmetry-broken Mn atoms their cooperative mechanism through efficient oxidative charge accumulation clusters are lessons but synthesis strategies have not been successfully...
Background: Diazinon is a widely used organophosphorus neurotoxic insecticide. It common environmental contaminant and hazardous agri-waste. Its detection critical to control entry into food systems protect the environment. Methods: In this study, three single-stranded DNA aptamers specific for diazinon were discovered using systematic evolution of ligands by exponential enrichment (SELEX) process. Since aptamer-based sensors are quick straightforward analyze, they could potentially replace...
The reaction of Li[(TAML)CoIII]·3H2O (TAML = tetraamido macrocyclic tetraanionic ligand) with iodosylbenzene at 253 K in acetone the presence redox-innocent metal ions (Sc(OTf)3 and Y(OTf)3) or triflic acid affords a blue species 1, which is converted reversibly to green 2 upon cooling 193 K. electronic structures 1 have been determined by combining advanced spectroscopic techniques (X-band electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR), nuclear double (ENDOR), X-ray absorption spectroscopy/extended...
Fluorene- and carbazole-based small molecules with dye end groups were synthesized for use as non-fullerene acceptors in organic photovoltaic cells.
Acid effects on the chemical properties of metal–oxygen intermediates have attracted much attention recently, such as enhanced reactivity high-valent metal(IV)–oxo species by binding proton(s) or Lewis acidic metal ion(s) in redox reactions. Herein, we report for first time proton an iron(V)–oxo complex bearing a negatively charged tetraamido macrocyclic ligand (TAML) oxygen atom transfer (OAT) and electron-transfer (ET) First, synthesized characterized mononuclear nonheme Fe(V)–oxo TAML (1)...
Mononuclear Pd(I) species are putative intermediates in Pd-catalyzed reactions, but our knowledge about them is limited due to difficulties accessing them. Herein, we report the isolation of a amido complex, [(BINAP)Pd(NHArTrip)] (BINAP = 2,2'-bis(diphenylphosphino)-1,1'-binaphthalene, ArTrip 2,6-bis(2',4',6'-triisopropylphenyl)phenyl), from reaction (BINAP)PdCl2 with LiNHArTrip. This has been characterized by X-ray crystallography, electron paramagnetic resonance, and multiedge Pd...
A biosynthetic gene cluster for the bioactive fungal sesterterpenoids variecolin (1) and variecolactone (2) was identified in Aspergillus aculeatus ATCC 16872. Heterologous production of 1 2 achieved oryzae by expressing sesterterpene synthase VrcA cytochrome P450 VrcB. Intriguingly, replacement VrcB with homologous P450s from other terpenoid pathways yielded three new analogues (5–7). Analysis compounds' anticancer activity vitro vivo revealed that although 5 had comparable activities,...
A paramagnetic cobalt–SiH intermediate possessing the Co–(η1-H–Si) moiety shows unusual Si–H bond activation studied by ENDOR, XRD and DFT.
Significance Molybdenum sulfide (MoS 2 ) is the most studied two-dimensional (2D) material bar graphene. Current research on crystal-phase engineering focuses almost exclusively improvement of catalytic activity. However, potential advantages phase toward regulation selectivity control during multistep processes remain unexplored. Here, we report atomic-scale evidence how metallic MoS shows significantly higher compared to semiconducting multielectron reduction nitrite nitrous oxide. Namely,...
Phosphatase and tensin homolog deleted on chromosome 10 (PTEN) expressed in Saccharomyces cerevisiae was reversibly oxidized by hydrogen peroxide reduced cellular reductants. Reduction of hPTEN delayed each S. gsh1Δ gsh2Δ mutants. Expression γ‐glutamylcysteine synthetase Gsh1 the mutant rescued regeneration rate hPTEN. Oxidized glutathione a concentration‐ time‐dependent manner. Glutathionylated PTEN detected. Incubation 293T cells with BSO knockdown expression GCLc HeLa siRNA resulted delay...
Metal(TMC) complexes (TMC = tetramethylcyclam) exclusively form trans-I diastereoisomers; thus, little is known about the trans-III isomers. Herein, we report a new method to prepare trans-III-[Cu(TMC)]2+ complex via an anion effect. Our crystallographic, spectroscopic, and computational analyses validated that [Cu(TMC)](NO3)2 produced complex, different from structure of [Cu(TMC)](ClO4)2.

Here, we designed synthesized two covalently ortho -linked pyrene (Py) dimers, anti - syn -1,2-di(pyrenyl)benzene ( Anti -DPyB Syn -DPyB, respectively), investigated the effect of molecular configuration on SF dynamics using steady-state time-resolved spectroscopies. Both which different...
The catalytic redox activity of Cu(II) bound to the amino-terminal copper and nickel (ATCUN) binding motif (Xxx-Zzz-His, XZH) is stimulating development metallodrugs based on reactive oxygen species (ROS)-mediated biomolecule oxidation. However, low Cu(I) availability resulting from strong affinity ATCUN regarded as a limitation efficient ROS generation. To address this, we replaced imidazole moiety (pKa 7.0) Gly-Gly-His-NH2 (GGHa, canonical peptide) with thiazole 2.7) oxazole 0.8), yielding...
