Emm抗原は,国際輸血学会(ISBT)において高頻度抗原(901008)に認定されている.これまで海外で8例の抗Emm保有例が報告されているが,抗体保有者に輸血が行われた報告例はなく,自然発生による抗体の可能性が高い.また臨床的意義は不明である.今回,58歳男性患者が緊急に輸血が必要となり,輸血前の検査において抗Leaと高頻度抗原に対する抗体の保有が疑われたが,やむなく交差適合試験不適合のLe(a-)型の赤血球濃厚液-LR(以下RCC)2単位の輸血を行ったところ,輸血終了30分後に血圧低下および血色素尿が出現した.さらに同日RCC 4単位,3日目に2単位を輸血したが,この時は明らかな副作用を認めなかった.しかし,6日目にRCC 2単位の輸血を行ったところ,30ml使用した時点で,嘔吐,赤褐色尿を認め輸血中止となった.精査の結果,抗Emmと同定され,本邦での検出は第1例目となる.本症例はこれまでの報告と同様に輸血歴が確認されておらず,抗Emmは自然抗体の可能性が高く,新たに重篤な急性溶血性輸血副作用の原因となる臨床的に意義のある抗体の可能性が示唆された.

精米もしくは精米と米ぬかの併用給与が豚肉質に及ぼす影響を検討した.供試豚は,平均体重70kgのデュロック種雌豚32頭を4つの区に割り振った.区分は,トウモロコシを70%配合した対照区,対照区のトウモロコシを精米に代替した精米区,精米を60%と米ぬかを10%配合した精米+米ぬか10%区および精米50%と米ぬかを20%配合した精米+米ぬか20%区とした.精米区の背脂肪内層L*値とオレイン酸割合は,対照区よりも高く(P<0.05),米ぬかの配合割合が増すと対照区との差が無くなった.精米区の背脂肪内層リノール酸とα-リノレン酸割合は,対照区に比べて低く(P<0.05),米ぬかの配合割合が増すと対照区と同程度まで増加した.以上より,精米給与は,背脂肪内層のL*値とオレイン酸割合を増加させ,多価不飽和脂肪酸酸割合を低下させた.米ぬかの配合割合の増加は,この効果を減少させることが明らかになった.
