X-linked recessive deficiency of TLR7, a MyD88- and IRAK-4–dependent endosomal ssRNA sensor, impairs SARS-CoV-2 recognition type I IFN production in plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs), thereby underlying hypoxemic COVID-19 pneumonia with high penetrance. We report 22 unvaccinated patients autosomal MyD88 or IRAK-4 infected (mean age: 10.9 yr; 2 mo to 24 yr), originating from 17 kindreds eight countries on three continents. 16 were hospitalized: six moderate, four severe, critical pneumonia,...

An infant girl of 36 weeks gestational age was found to have cardiovascular and other lethal internal anomalies in addition characteristic external abnormalities focal dermal hypoplasia (Goltz syndrome). The included truncus arteriosus type II with truncal origin hypoplastic pulmonary arteries, cardiac ventricular septal defect, severe lungs veins, massive diaphragmatic hernia, absence the right kidney. Such a combination has not been reported previously Goltz syndrome.

Delirium is a frequently occurring complication of critical care, in approximately 45% unplanned UK ICU admissions [1]. The presence delirium care an independent risk factor for mortality; every day delirium, there additional 10% relative death at 1 year [2]. A prediction tool PREDELIRIC has been recently developed and calibrated multinational project [3]. This study aimed to determine the utility PRE-DELIRIC on our ICU.

Pulmonary hemorrhage (PH) is an infrequent and potentially fatal event in term neonates. Reports of successful management PH on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) are limited, given the accentuated risk mortality imposed by use heparin to prevent thrombosis ECMO. We present a case neonate with hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy undergoing controlled hypothermia who developed respiratory failure, hemodynamic instability, Enterobacter cloacae pneumonia sepsis complicated severe required...

The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) epidemic, while known for lung disease of several types and multisystem failure (called COVID-19), usually has a mild or asymptomatic course in children youth. There is paucity data defining the risk factors pediatric patients how they interact with SARS-CoV-2 infection. A 15-year-old female, MyD88 immunodeficiency suspected COVID-19 exposure, presented to emergency department fever, subsequently tested positive SARS-CoV-2. …

Abstract Microfluidic systems have enormous potential as investigational devices in biomedical research, particular immunology. can be fabricated with the precise regulation of any number parameters including controlled surface chemistries, geometrical dimensions, signal input and output timing. The adjustable nature microfluidic makes them an ideal platform to recreate cellular microenvironments for studying cell-cell interactions, migration, antibody cytokine production, differentiation...

Abstract Notch signaling is critical for thymopoiesis. ligand’s expression on thymic epithelial cells crucial to the development naïve T lymphocytes and therefore characterized as one of primary pathways. We are developing a biomaterial-based model hypothesize that by binding ligand onto biomaterial based scaffold, we can maintain in its active form, differentiate mouse embryonic stem into T-lymphocytes. ABSTRACT This paper reviews the method of calculating operational availability from Operational Availability Handbook (OpNavInst 3000.12) 29 December 1987. It questions procedure for intermittent‐use ship systems wherein non‐operating time is considered as uptime in using instruction. Specific sample calculations based on actual gas turbine experience CG‐47, DD‐963, DDG‐993, FFG‐7, and PHM‐1 class ships are presented to demonstrate conclusions be avoided. study suggests that following...
