Abstract Objective This study investigated the influence of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) on lung function in early convalescence phase. Methods A retrospective COVID-19 patients at Fifth Affiliated Hospital Sun Yat-sen University were conducted, with serial assessments including volumes (TLC), spirometry (FVC, FEV1), diffusing capacity for carbon monoxide (DLCO),respiratory muscle strength, 6-min walking distance (6MWD) and high resolution CT being collected 30 days after discharged....

Excessive nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) activation mediated by tumor necrosis factor α (TNFα) plays a critical role in inflammation. Here we demonstrate that angiopoietin-like 8 (ANGPTL8) functions as negative feedback regulator TNFα-triggered NF-κB intracellularly. Inflammatory stimuli induce ANGPTL8 expression, and knockdown or knockout of potentiates TNFα-induced vitro. Mechanistically, upon TNFα stimulation, facilitates the interaction IKKγ with p62 via forming complex, thus promoting...

Omental adipose stromal cells (O-ASC) are a multipotent population of mesenchymal stem contained in the omentum tissue that promote endometrial and ovarian tumor proliferation, migration, drug resistance. The mechanistic underpinnings O-ASCs' role progression growth unclear. Here, we propose novel nitric oxide (NO)-mediated metabolic coupling between O-ASCs gynecologic cancer which support NO homeostasis malignant cells. is synthesized endogenously by conversion l-arginine into citrulline...

Objective This study is performed to investigate the imaging characteristics of International Association for Study Lung Cancer grade 3 invasive adenocarcinoma (IAC) on PET/CT and value preoperative predicting this tumor. Materials methods We retrospectively enrolled patients with IAC from August 2015 September 2022. The clinical characteristics, serum tumor markers, features were analyzed. T test, Mann–Whitney U χ 2 Logistic regression analysis, receiver operating characteristic analysis...

ABSTRACT Coxiella burnetii is a highly virulent intracellular pathogen that causes acute and chronic Q fever in humans. The bacterium utilizes Dot/Icm type IV secretion system (T4SS) to translocate over 100 effectors into host cells facilitate biogenesis of -containing vacuoles (CCVs), which are specialized lysosome-derived organelles support bacterial replication. During replication CCVs, C. undergoes unique biphasic developmental cycle defined by two distinct cellular forms: the infectious...

Abstract Circadian rhythm disorders and NF-κB are closely linked can exacerbate periodontitis. However, the mechanisms via which circadian rhythm-related genes influence periodontitis not yet fully understood. Objective We investigated effect of brain muscle Arnt-like protein-1 (BMAL1) on pathway downstream inflammatory factors In this study, Bmal1 homozygous knockout mouse models were established. Methodology Bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMDMs) from Bmal1-/- mice cultured stimulated...

Parkinson's disease (PD) and Dementia with Lewy Bodies (DLB) are neurodegenerative disorders characterized by the accumulation of α-synuclein aggregates. forms droplets via liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS), followed liquid-solid (LSPS) to form amyloids, how this process is physiologically-regulated remains unclear. β-synuclein colocalizes in presynaptic terminals. Here, we report that partitions into condensates promotes LLPS, slows down LSPS α-synuclein, while disease-associated...

Abstract Objective To explore the mechanism of receptor‐interacting protein 1 (RIP1)‐mediated necroptosis during periodontitis progression. Background RIP3 and mixed lineage kinase domain‐like (MLKL) have been detected to be upregulated in models. Because RIP1 is involved necroptosis, it might also play a role progression periodontitis. Methods An experimental model BALB/c mice was established by inducing oral bacterial infection. Western blotting immunofluorescence analyses were used detect...

Abstract Exposure of dark-grown etiolated seedlings to light triggers the transition from skotomorphogenesis/etiolation photomorphogenesis/de-etiolation. In life cycle plants, de-etiolation is essential for seedling development and plant survival. The mobilization soluble sugars (glucose [Glc], sucrose, fructose) derived stored carbohydrates lipids target organs, including cotyledons, hypocotyls, radicles, underpins de-etiolation. Therefore, dynamic carbohydrate biochemistry a key feature...
