Abstract Cell cycle arrest in response to DNA damage is an important antitumorigenic mechanism. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) were recently shown play key regulatory roles cell progression. For example, miR-34a induced p53 activation and mediates G1 by down-regulating multiple cycle–related transcripts. Here we show that genotoxic stress promotes the p53-dependent up-regulation of homologous miRNAs miR-192 miR-215. Like miR-34a, miR-192/215 induces arrest, suggesting miRNA families operate network....

Significance This work describes an intriguing strategy for the formation of hydrogel-laden multiform structures utilizing paper sheets and suggests a route trachea tissue engineering. It combines concepts extracted from origami, functional thin polymer coating, hydrogel layering on top scaffolds. A computer-aided design-based lock-and-key arrangement was used folding into with spatial arrangements. With encapsulating cells in paper, scaffold system able to deliver biological cues vivo. In...

Image-guided breast biopsy of a residual imaging abnormality or tumor bed after neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) is increasingly used to assess cancer, facilitate risk-adaptive surgery, and potentially identify exceptional responders in whom local therapy may be de-escalated.To further the accuracy post-NACT image-guided predict cancer breast. This diagnostic study analyzed multicenter patient-level data patients with who were treated NACT underwent before surgery at Royal Marsden Hospital...

Background In patients who are expected to achieve axillary pathologic complete response (pCR) after neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC), omission of lymph node (LN) dissection could prevent morbidity and complications. Purpose To develop a clinical model predict residual LN metastasis in with clinically node-positive breast cancer NAC by using MRI US. Materials Methods this retrospective study, women were treated following surgery between January 2015 September 2017 included. The randomly...

Background There is an increasing need to develop a more accurate prediction model for pathologic complete response (pCR) after neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) in breast cancer. Purpose To nomogram based on MRI and clinical-pathologic variables predict pCR. Materials Methods In this single-center retrospective study, consecutive women with stage II–III cancer who underwent NAC followed by surgery between January 2011 December 2017 were considered inclusion. The divided into development cohort...

Purpose To develop and apply a method to measure in vivo electrical conductivity values using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) subjects with breast cancer. Materials Methods A recently developed technique named MREPT (MR properties tomography) together novel coil combination process was used quantify the values. The overall validated phantom study. In addition, 90 were imaged (50 previously biopsy-confirmed tumor 40 normal subjects), which approved by our institutional review board (IRB)....

ABSTRACT Objectives: To evaluate changes in the volume and cross-sectional area of nasal airway before 1 year after nonsurgical miniscrew-assisted rapid maxillary expansion (MARME) young adults. Materials Methods: Fourteen patients (mean age, 22.7 years; 10 women, four men) with a transverse discrepancy who underwent cone beam computed tomography (T0), immediately (T1), (T2) were retrospectively included this study. The cavity nasopharynx anterior, middle, posterior segments measured...

Abstract A major limitation of screening breast ultrasound (US) is a substantial number false-positive biopsy. This study aimed to develop deep learning-based computer-aided diagnosis (DL-CAD)-based diagnostic model improve the differential US-detected masses and reduce diagnoses. In this multicenter retrospective study, was developed based on US images combined with information obtained from DL-CAD software for patients detected using US; data were two hospitals (development set: 299...

Background Little is known regarding findings at imaging associated with survival in patients luminal breast cancer treated neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC). Purpose To determine the relationship between (MRI, US, and mammography) clinical-pathologic variables predicting distant metastasis-free (DMFS) overall (OS) NAC. Materials Methods In this retrospective study, consecutive women who underwent NAC followed by surgery were identified from registries of two hospitals. Women one hospital...

Advances in chemotherapeutic and targeted agents have increased pathologic complete response (pCR) rates after neoadjuvant systemic therapy (NST). Vacuum-assisted biopsy (VAB) has been suggested to accurately evaluate pCR. This study aims confirm the non-inferiority of 5-year disease-free survival patients who omitted breast surgery when predicted a pCR based on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) VAB NST, compared with had undergone previous studies.
