In this article, the first isolation of Mycobacterium kyorinense specimens in Brazil is described. M. a recently identified species, with few strains reported only Japan. The Brazilian isolates were initially as celatum by PCR restriction enzyme pattern analysis (PRA) hsp65. However, biochemical tests indicated same profile and distinguished them from branderi. sequencing hsp65, rpoB, 16S rRNA genes allowed accurate identification kyorinense.

Three isolates of a slow-growing, non-chromogenic mycobacterium were grown from three sputum samples patient the north-eastern Ceará state in Brazil. Identification at species level could not be obtained with PCR restriction analysis hsp65 gene. In order to characterize we carried out phenotypic and genotypic tests. We sequenced nearly complete 16S rRNA gene partial sequences (encoding hypervariable region 65 kDa heat-shock protein) rpoB beta-subunit RNA polymerase) genes. The turned...

The present study aimed to determine the genetic diversity of isolates Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) from presumed drug resistant patients several states Brazil. had been submitted conventional susceptibility testing for first- and second-line drugs. Multidrug-resistant (MDR-TB) (54.8%) was most frequent phenotypic resistance profile, in addition an important high frequency pre-extensively (p-XDR-TB) (9.2%). Using whole-genome sequencing (WGS), we characterized 298 Mtb Besides analysis...

In order to evaluate the direct-method test of sensitivity drugs used in principal tuberculosis treatment regimes, Organon Teknika MB/BacT system, we tested 50 sputum samples positive microscopy taken from patients with pulmonary and clinical indications for an antibiogram, admitted sequentially examination during routine reference laboratory. The material was treated v/v 23% trisodium phosphate solution, incubated 24 h at 35 degrees C, neutralized 20% monosodium solution. then centrifuged...
