Measuring gas content is an essential step in estimating the commerciality of reserves. In this study, eight shale core samples from Mouye-1 well were measured using a homemade patented desorption apparatus to determine their contents. Due air contamination that introduced into canister, mathematical method was devised correct quantity and quality. Compared chemical compositions desorbed gas, residual are somewhat different. carbon dioxide nitrogen record slight increase, propane first...

Phase-field modeling -- a continuous approach to discontinuities is gaining popularity for simulating rock fractures due its ability handle complex, discontinuous geometry without an explicit surface tracking algorithm. Abstract Self‐organizing diffusion‐reaction systems naturally form complex patterns under far‐from‐equilibrium conditions. A representative example is the rhythmic concentration pattern of Fe‐oxides in Zebra rocks; these include reddish‐brown stripes, rounded rods, and elliptical spots. Similar are observed banded iron formations, which presumed to have formed early earth global glaciation. We propose that such can be used directly (e.g., by computer‐vision‐analysis) infer basic quantities...

Abstract Mineral precipitation can form complex patterns under non‐equilibrium conditions, in which two representative are rhythmic Liesegang stripes and fractal dendrites. Interestingly, both occur the same rock formations, including various dendritic morphologies found different rocks, such as limestone sandstone. However, underlying mechanism for selecting vastly mineral remains unclear. We use a phase‐field model to reveal mechanisms driving pattern selection precipitation. Simulations...
