The purpose of our study was to evaluate the diagnostic value an imaging protocol that combines dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI (DCE-MRI) and diffusion-weighted (DWI) in patients with suspicious breast lesions determine if additional information provided by DWI improves MRI.Eighty-four tumors (37 benign, 47 malignant) underwent DCE-MRI before biopsy. Morphologic kinetic analyses were performed on findings classified according BI-RADS lexicon. Apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values...

Antibodies to citrullinated proteins have been described in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and these appear be the most specific markers of disease. Our objective was determine frequency antibodies cyclic peptides (CCPs) RA association anti-CCP disease activity, radiological erosions HLA DR genotype. Forty 38 fibromyalgia were included this study. Serum samples collected from both patient groups fibromyalgia. Anti-CCP measured by corresponding enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay....

Umbilical venous catheter (UVC) insertion is frequently performed in critically ill neonates. Various mild or serious complications of umbilical catheterization can be observed associated with this procedure. In study, newborns that have undergone UVC and developed were evaluated. This retrospective observational study was carried out evaluated between June 2008 November 2014.Umbilical inserted to 974 (22.4%) newborn followed for 7402/catheter days. UVC-related at 198 patients (20.3%). The...

Abstract Background Contrast-enhanced spectral mammography (CESM) is a new and promising imaging modality that improves tumor visibility through contrast enhancement caused by malignant neovascularization. Breast magnetic resonance (MRI) based on the principle hypervascular lesions are stained more intensely with material than breast glandular tissue. Currently, in contrast-enhanced used only as marker, it unclear whether possible to analyze amount, pattern, kinetics of using this technique...

To evaluate the contribution of MRI to ultrasound (US) in diagnosis fetal anomalies. After informed consent and institutional review board approval, concomitant US MR imaging were performed for 184 fetuses with suspected anomalies university hospital. Postnatal final diagnoses obtained 183 151 either by radiological examination, surgery, autopsy, or inspection. The prenatal compared respect postnatal diagnoses. Sign test was used determine statistical significance. Both correctly diagnosed 93...

Purpose To evaluate the diagnostic efficacy of quantitative Diffusion‐weighted imaging (DWI) in characterization breast lesions mass and non‐mass enhancement (NME) types. Materials Methods After institutional review board gave approval, DWI exams 267 women with 212 suspicious masses, 73 NMEs were retrospectively analyzed. Apparent diffusion coefficients (ADCs) benign malignant compared. Cutoff values obtained by receiver operating characteristics analysis. Diagnostic accuracies for masses...

The purpose of this study was to investigate the role evaluation breast vascularity with contrast-enhanced MR angiography in differentiation malignant from benign lesions.Contrast-enhanced 3D angiograms breasts 102 patients unilateral and histopathologically confirmed lesions were evaluated retrospectively. All images for both ipsilateral increased adjacent vessel sign, values these signs diagnosis malignancy assessed.Histopathologic analysis revealed 50 52 results. In 31 cancer 11 lesions,...

SUMMARY: Intracranial lipomas are rare lesions. lipoma associated with a subcutaneous is extremely rare. Various vascular abnormalities have been described in association intracranial lipoma, including distension, kinking, or narrowing of arteries and veins; arteriovenous malformation; aneurysm. To our knowledge, sagittal sinus fenestration, falcine sinus, absent straight intraextracranial has not reported before. We report the imaging findings an infant interhemispheric fenestration.

Pontocerebellar hypoplasia consists of a rare heterogeneous group congenital neurodevelopmental disorders characterized by and atrophy the cerebellar cortex, dentate pontine nuclei, inferior olives. The very low density lipoprotein receptor protein is an integral part reelin signaling pathway, which guides neuroblast migration in cerebral cortex cerebellum. Mutations this cause nonprogressive ataxia, mental retardation, hypoplasia. In report, we present 3 patients from 2 different families...

We report a case of retained surgical sponge in the breast with its sonographic and magnetic resonance (MR) imaging findings. Striped spotted low signal intensity structures seen within lesion on T2 weighted MR was characteristic. Sonographic examination also helpful appearance strong posterior acoustic shadowing at lesion. It is extremely rare, to see gossypiboma breast. A high degree suspicion findings are very important for diagnosis.
