To prospectively determine whether the diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging is useful to distinguish between malignant and benign mediastinal lymph nodes.Thirty-five patients (14 women, 21 men; mean age 52 years) with 91 nodes in mediastinum detected by computed tomography underwent 1.5 Tesla (T) MR before mediastinoscopy (n = 29) mediastinotomy 6). Diffusion-weighted images were acquired a b factor of 50, 400 s/mm(2) using single-shot echo-planar sequence.Of 35 patients, 18 had...

Although pulmonary thromboembolism is usually considered as an acute illness, delayed presentations are fairly common. The purpose of this study was to investigate delays presentation/diagnosis and their likely correlation with patients' clinical radiographic findings in thromboembolism. All cases embolism diagnosed our hospital between March 2002 May 2006 were reviewed for the date symptom onset, dates presentation diagnosis, findings, localization vascular tree pleuropulmonary changes...

Tracheobronchial tree injuries occur in a small number of patients after blunt chest trauma, and their occurrence is uncommon the pediatric trauma population. The authors report two male children, one with tracheal rupture, other disruption main right bronchus. Mediastinal subcutaneous emphysema resulting airway obstruction were noted Case 1 soft-tissue emphysema, pneumomediastinum tension pneumothorax evident 2 at time presentation. In child bronchial disruption, major injury was suspected...

The effects of melatonin, a free-radical scavenger and general antioxidant, on radiation-induced growth plate injury have not been studied previously. purpose this study was to determine the potential benefits sparing longitudinal bone by fractionated radiotherapy alone compared with pretreatment melatonin that provides differential radioprotection normal cells. Weanling 4-wk-old (75-100 g) male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly assigned one three groups: Group R received radiation (n = 8);...

Hypertension is frequently seen in autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD), and it has a negative effect on renal progression. left ventricle hypertrophy (LVH) are related terms of pathogenesis their effects In this study, we aimed to compare the losartan ramipril blood pressure (BP) control, LVH, progression patients with hypertensive ADPKD.Thirty-two ADPKD ages ranging between 18 70 years who were stage 1-2 included study. Routine biochemical tests echocardiography obtained at...

Mature teratoma of adrenal gland is a rare entity. Neurocytoma low grade neuronal tumor even rarely seen among central nervous system tumors. Nervous tumors arising in teratomas are frequently originated from glial or primitive neuroectodermal cells. Here we report neurocytoma mature cystic the right an 8 years old boy. Histological examination revealed composed solid sheets fibrillar basis with small uniform cells neuroglial tissue teratoma. This only second case demonstrating literature.
