Abstract Kaon physics is at a turning point – while the rare-kaon experiments NA62 and KOTO are in full swing, end of their lifetime approaching future experimental landscape needs to be defined. With HIKE, KOTO-II LHCb-Phase-II on table under scrutiny, it very good moment time take stock contemplate about opportunities these theoretical developments provide for particle coming decade beyond. This paper provides compact summary talks discussions from Kaons@CERN 2023 workshop, held September CERN.
The design of next-generation calorimeters for accelerator-borne experiments at the intensity frontier poses unprecedented challenges with regard to timing performance and radiation resistance, while rivaling current state art in terms energy resolution. A significant role may be played by quantum dots, i.e., light-emitting semiconductor nanocrystals high yield rather easy manufacture. Quantum dots can cast into an optically transparent polymer matrix obtain nanocomposite scintillators,...
A study of the dynamics rare decay K±→π±γγ has been performed on a sample 232 candidates, with an estimated background 17.4±1.1 events, collected by NA62 experiment at CERN in 2007. The results are combined those from measurement conducted NA48/2 Collaboration CERN. model-independent branching ratio kinematic range z=(mγγ/mK)2>0.2 is BMI(z>0.2)=(0.965±0.063)×10−6, and full assuming Chiral Perturbation Theory description B(Kπγγ)=(1.003±0.056)×10−6. detailed comparison previous measurements performed.
The NA62 experiment recorded a large sample of $K^+ \rightarrow μ^+ ν_μ$ decays in 2007. A peak search has been performed the reconstructed missing mass spectrum. In absence signal, limits range $2 \times 10^{-6}$ to $10^{-5}$ have set on squared mixing matrix element $|U_{\mu4} |^2$ between muon and heavy neutrino states, for masses 300-375 MeV/$c^2$. result extends which upper value previous production experiments.
The NA62 experiment collected a large sample of charged kaon decays in 2007 with highly efficient trigger for into electrons. A measurement the $\pi^0$ electromagnetic transition form factor slope parameter from $1.11\times10^{6}$ fully reconstructed $K^\pm \to \pi^\pm \pi^0_D, \pi^0_D e^+ e^-\gamma$ events is reported. measured value $a = (3.68 \pm 0.57)\times10^{-2}$ good agreement theoretical expectations and previous measurements, represents most precise experimental determination...
Searches for the lepton number violating ${K}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}{e}^{+}$ decay and flavor ${K}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{e}^{+}$ ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{e}^{+}$ decays are reported using data collected by NA62 experiment at CERN in 2017--2018. No evidence these is found upper limits of branching ratios obtained...
Crilin (Crystal Calorimeter with Longitudinal Information) is a semi-homogeneous, longitudinally segmented electromagnetic calorimeter based on high- Z , ultra-fast crystals UV-extended SiPM readout. The design has been proposed as candidate solution for both future Muon Collider barrel ECAL and the Small Angle of HIKE experiment. As part development program, we have carried out beam tests small (10 × 10 40 mm 3 ) lead fluoride (PbF 2 tungstate (PbWO 4 PWO-UF) 120 GeV electrons at CERN SPS...
A high statistics data sample of the $$K^{+}\rightarrow \mu ^{+}\nu _{\mu }$$ decay was accumulated by OKA experiment in 2012. The missing mass analysis performed to search for channel _{H}$$ with a hypothetic stable heavy neutrino final state. obtained spectrum does not show peaks that could be attributed existence neutrinos range $$(270< m_{\nu _{H}} < 375)$$ MeV $$/c^{2}$$ . As result, upper limits on branching ratio and value mixing element $$|U_{\mu H}|^{2}$$ are obtained.
Results of a study the $K^+ \rightarrow \pi^{0} e^{+} \nu \gamma $ decay at OKA setup are presented. More than 32000 events this observed. The differential spectra over photon energy and photon-electron opening angle in kaon rest frame branching ratios, normalized to that $K_{e3}$ calculated for different cuts $E^*_\gamma$ $cos\Theta^{*}_{e\gamma}$. In particular, ratio $E^{*}_{\gamma}>30$ MeV $\Theta^{*}_{e \gamma}>20^{\circ}$ is measured R = $\frac{Br(K^+ \nu_{e} \gamma) } {Br(K^+...
Precise measurements of the branching ratios for flavor-changing neutral current decays $K\to\pi\nu\bar{\nu}$ can provide unique constraints on CKM unitarity and, potentially, evidence new physics. It is important to measure both decay modes, $K^+\to\pi^+\nu\bar{\nu}$ and $K_L\to\pi^0\nu\bar{\nu}$, since different physics models affect rates each channel differently. The goal NA62 experiment at CERN SPS BR charged within 10%. For channel, has never been measured. We are designing KLEVER...
