Objectives Myositis-specific autoantibodies (MSAs) are useful tools for identifying clinically homogeneous subsets and predicting prognosis of patients with idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIM) including polymyositis (PM) dermatomyositis (DM). Recent studies have shown that anti-NXP2 antibody (Ab) is a major MSA in juvenile (JDM). In this study the frequencies clinical associations Ab were evaluated adult IIM. Methods Clinical data serum samples collected from 507 Japanese IIM (445 DM 62...

A method to produce coke in 'lump' form with high strength and reactivity through the addition of a catalyst was investigated order improve blast furnace reaction efficiency. The Ca compounds coal before carbonization found considerably increase at low temperature range thermal reserve zone furnace. Furthermore it proved that strong, highly reactive could be produced by adding Ca-rich non-caking adjusting blend composition. Based on this fundamental study, successfully ovens commercial...

We give an upper bound for the dealternating number of a closed 3-braid. As applications, we determine numbers, alternation numbers and Turaev genera some positive 3-braids. also show that there exist infinitely many knots with any (or number) braid index.

The presence or absence of hypothyroidism was assessed in 152 consecutive Japanese patients with end-stage renal disease on hemodialysis. Eight who had undergone treatment for thyroid before starting hemodialysis therapy, and 3 amyloidosis due to rheumatoid arthritis were excluded.Of the remaining 141 patients, 14 (9.9%) (9 males 5 females, aged 69.1 A+/- 8.8 years a mean duration 69 51 months) hypothyroid state, defined as thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) level > mU/l. We give a lower bound for the alternation number of knot by using Rasmussen s-invariant and signature knot. Then, we determine torus knots with one show that many are "far" from alternating knots. As an application, almost knots, solving conjecture due to Adams et al.

Akbulut and Kirby conjectured that two knots with the same $0$-surgery are concordant. In this paper, we prove if slice-ribbon conjecture is true, then modified Akbulut-Kirby's false. We also give a fibered potential counterexample to conjecture.

Hyperglycemic clamp and hyperinsulinemic euglycemic techniques were used to investigate effects of diet cold exposure on insulin responsiveness glucose tissue sensitivity in adult rams. The sheep fed a high-concentrate (80% concentrate 20% roughage) high-roughage (20% 80% roughage), both 70% above the ME requirement for maintenance, exposed thermoneutral environment (20° C) (0° 2 wk. estimated intake was greater (P < .01) than diet. Abstract We give a method for obtaining infinitely many framed knots which represent diffeomorphic 4-manifold. also study relationship between the n -shake genus and 4-ball of knot. Furthermore we construction homotopy 4-spheres from slice knot with unknotting number one.

We consider a relation between two kinds of unknotting numbers defined by using band surgery on unoriented knots; the band-unknotting number and H(2)-unknotting number, which we may characterize in terms first Betti surfaces S^3 spanning knot trivial knot. also give several examples for these numbers.

Abstract We characterize positive links in terms of strong quasipositivity, homogeneity, and the value Rasmussen Beliakova-Wehrli's s -invariant. also study almost links, particular, determine -invariants links. This result suggests that all might be strongly quasipositive. On other hand, it implies are never homogeneous

A quadrupole mass spectrometer (QMS) utilizing the second stable zone in Mathieu’s stability diagram was developed. The system performance experimentally compared with conventional QMS using first zone. peak shapes obtained were sharper and tail components arising from adjacent peaks less than those of QMS, although analyzable range limited to lower attenuation sensitivity about 1/50. This improved is usable detecting very small adjoining large ones.
