We present new $\ensuremath{\Sigma}$ beam asymmetry data for $\ensuremath{\eta}$ meson photoproduction on the proton, using a novel tagged, laser backscattered, linearly polarized photon up to 1.1 GeV. The show large, positive asymmetries, at all incident energies. In addition ${S}_{11}(1535)$ and ${D}_{13}(1520)$ resonances necessary reproduce cross sections, ${P}_{13}(1720)$ ${D}_{15}(1675)$ ``four stars'' contribute observable, but cannot strong forward asymmetries measured energies...

Despite the recognized potential of long-term survival or even growth fecal indicators bacteria (FIB) in marine sediments, this compartment is largely ignored by health protection authorities. We conducted a large-scale study over approximately 50 km Marche coasts (Adriatic Sea) at depths ranging from 2 to 5 m. Total and coliforms (FC) were counted culture-based methods. Escherichia coli was also quantified using fluorescence situ hybridization targeting specific 16S rRNA sequences, which...

The differential cross section for the reaction p(γ,ηp) has been measured from threshold to 1100 MeV photon laboratory energy. For first time, region of S11(1535) resonance is fully covered in a photoproduction experiment and will allow precise extraction its parameters at point. These high precision data together with already beam asymmetry provide stringent constraints on new couplings baryon resonances η meson.

We present the first measurement of Σ beam asymmetry in η photoproduction on neutron photon energy range from threshold to 1.5 GeV. Data have been collected by using tagged and linearly polarized large solid angle apparatus GRAAL facility. Neutron data selected among events deuteron quasi-free kinematics approximation. Proton data, extracted same way, are within errors identical those previously obtained free protons at facility, except for a few points falling certain bins. This difference...

The aim of this research was to analyze the morphological features Sabellaria alveolata reefs and associated polychaete fauna in three different coastal areas Tyrrhenian Sea (Mediterranean Sea, Italy). We assessed relationship between physical structure fauna. also investigated possible connections assemblage reef development on spatial temporal scales. Reefs were morphologically described, assemblages studied using community indices, as well multivariate univariate statistics. Three states...

Abstract For many years there has been a need to find an alternative the radioisotope-based gamma-gamma density (GGD) measurement. The traditional GGD measurement uses scattering of 662-keV gamma rays from 137Cs radioisotopic source determine formation density. A statistically precise requires 40-GBq or higher strength and such logging source, with 30.17-year half-life, may pose health, security, environmental risks. Pulsed-neutron generators have used in industry for several decades...

Bryozoan assemblages of three mesophotic habitats, recently found in the Adriatic and Ionian Seas, were investigated terms species composition diversity, colonial growth forms, ecological affinity, with purposes to analyze variations similarities between different bioconstructions compare those other benthic habitats. Bryozoans came from sites off Apulian coast: Monopoli, 30–55-m depth, where scleractinians are dominant; Otranto, 45–64-m depth; Santa Maria di Leuca, 45–70-m bivalve...
