The impact of non-sustained ventricular tachycardia (NSVT) on the risk thromboembolic event and clinical outcomes in patients without structural heart disease remains undetermined. This study aimed to evaluate association between NSVT outcomes. The population 5903 was culled from "Registry 24-hour ECG monitoring at Taipei Veterans General Hospital" (REMOTE database) January 1, 2002 December 31, 2004. Of that total, we enrolled 3767 sustained tachycardia, disease, permanent pacemaker. For...
The long-term clinical impact of premature ventricular complexes (PVCs) on mortality and morbidity has not been fully studied. This study aimed to investigate the association between burden PVCs adverse outcome. A total 5778 subjects, who were pacemaker-free tachycardia-free at baseline, received 24-hour electrocardiography monitoring January 1, 2002 December 31, 2004. Clinical event data retrieved from Bureau National Health Insurance Taiwan. Multivariate Cox hazards regression models...
Myocardial infarction increases the risk of heart failure (HF) and atrial fibrillation. Renal denervation (RDN) might suppress development remodeling. This study aimed to elucidate molecular mechanism RDN in suppression fibrillation a HF model after myocardial infarction.HF rabbits were created 4 weeks coronary ligation. Rabbits classified into 3 groups: normal control (n=10), HF-RDN (n=6). Surgical chemical approached through midabdominal incisions HF-RDN. Left anterior descending artery...
Abstract Introduction Cigarette smoking contributes to the development of atrial fibrosis via nicotine. The impact on ablation results in persistent fibrillation (AF) is unknown. We aimed investigate triggers and long‐term outcome between smokers nonsmokers patients with AF after catheter ablation. Methods This study included 201 (177 males, 53 ± 10 years old) who received index ablation, including pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) complex fractionated electrograms (CFAEs) for AF,...
It has not been previously investigated whether the recurrence mechanism after cryoballoon ablation (CBA) of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF) is similar to that radiofrequency catheter (RFCA). We aimed evaluate differences characteristics between RFCA and CBA index procedure.A total 210 patients were enrolled in study, 69 underwent pulmonary vein (PV) isolation using a 28-mm second-generation CBA. The control group comprising 140 PV an open-irrigated catheter. A propensity score matching....
The risk of stroke in patients with short-run atrial tachyarrhythmia (AT) remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between AT and use CHA2DS2-VASc score for stratification. From registry 24-hour Holter monitoring, 5342 subjects without known fibrillation or were enrolled. Short-run was defined as episodes supraventricular ectopic beats <5 seconds. There 1595 (29.8%) AT. During median follow-up period 9.0 years, 494 developed new-onset stroke. Patients had significantly...
Abstract Background The reason for recurrence of ventricular arrhythmia (VA) after catheter ablation in patients with arrhythmogenic right cardiomyopathy (ARVC) is not clear. Methods In this study, 91 ARVC (age, 47 ± 13 years; men) who underwent drug‐refractory were enrolled. categorized into single or multiple procedures (n = 28). baseline characteristics and electrophysiological features the examined to elucidate VA recurrences. Results A total 186 VAs induced during index procedure 176...
Various ECG algorithms have been proposed to identify the origin of idiopathic outflow tract (OT)-ventricular arrhythmia (VA). However, electrocardiographic features failed and recurrent right ventricular (RVOT) ablation OT-VAs not clearly elucidated.A total 264 consecutive patients (mean age: 44.0 ± 13.0 years, 96 male) undergoing RVOT for with a transition ≥V3 , including 241 (91.6%) initially successful procedures 23 (8.4%) ablation. Detailed clinical characteristics were analyzed...
Abstract Background Epidemiological evidence has shown an association between ambient fine particulate matter (PM2.5) exposure and cardiovascular mortality. Increased ventricular premature complex (VPC) burden can cause left dilatation dysfunction. We aimed to investigate the relationship acute PM2.5 VPC in patients without structural heart disease. Methods reviewed 26 820 who underwent 24‐hour Holter electrocardiogram (ECG) recordings 1 Jan 2013 Dec 2016. enrolled with significant...
Premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) induced by subtle cardiac dysfunction are missed echocardiography. We evaluated acoustic cardiography for detection of early electromechanical in patients with idiopathic PVCs and normal left ejection fraction (LVEF), investigated the impact radiofrequency ablation (RFA) reversing this adverse effect.Eighty-six 33 controls having LVEF were studied. Fifty PVC group 36 nonablation group. %Electromechanical activation time (%EMAT), %left systolic...
Summary In systemic autoimmune‐prone (NZB × NZW)F 1 (NZB/W F ) mice, B‐cell abnormalities characterized by hypergammaglobulinaemia accompanying autoantibodies have been thought to be a main cause of the disease. To examine possible regulatory role B cells in disease manifestations, we injected, intravenously (i.v.), normal or autoimmune into non‐irradiated NZB/W mice. The injection splenic from major histocompatibility (MHC)‐matched allogeneic mice caused marked decrease serum immunoglobulin...
To clarify tissue-specificity of pancreatic β cells, comparison mRNA expression in various conditions the tissue multiple organisms is important. Although developed methodologies for monitoring such as microarray, rely on growth dbEST (database expressed sequence tag), a large number unknown genes genome, especially rat, have not been shown to be expressed. In this study, we established first database ESTs from rat islet and RINm5F cells. Two cDNA libraries were constructed using mRNAs cells...
Abstract Background Septal ventricular outflow tract arrhythmias (OT‐VAs) are defined as septal origin VAs from the right or left OT. Patients with OT‐VAs may require a sequential bilateral OT ablation. This study aimed to evaluate electrophysiological characteristics and ablation outcome in patients OT‐VAs. Methods We retrospectively analyzed electrocardiography parameters 96 (mean age 49 ± 15 years, male) undergoing activation mapping before catheter of idiopathic The were categorized into...
Genetic control of immune responses in mice against human thyroglobulin was studied using the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and passive haemagglutination test. Our results revealed that H-2a, H-2d, H-2q, H-2k H-2r haplotypes were high responders for antibody production to thyroglobulin, while H-2b H-2s low responders. High responsiveness transmitted F1 a dominant fashion. Study genetic mapping various congenic showed I-A subregion gene(s) response thyroglobulin.
