CD40 ligand (CD40L), a surface molecule which can be expressed by T cells, mast cells and basophils, has been shown to involved in the control of B cell proliferation, immunoglobulin class switching as well activation monocytes cells. We demonstrate that CD40L also constitutively eosinophils from an hypereosinophilic patient or, upon activation, eosinophilic line EOL-3 normal blood eosinophils. Eosinophils were able induce, conjunction with IL-4, CD40L-dependent proliferation vitro. These...

We have used two clonotypically distinct thyroglobulin (Tg)-specific, I-Ak restricted monoclonal T cell populations to investigate the role of thyroid peroxidase-catalyzed iodination in Tg recognition by autoreactive cells. The results showed that these cells could recognize only it was sufficiently iodinated. Unlike normal mouse Tg, noniodinated unable induce significant lesions but trigger production autoantibodies. In experiments, importance iodination-related epitopes emphasized...

Sensing devices are increasingly being deployed to monitor the physical world around us. One class of application for which sensor data is pertinent environmental decision support systems, e.g., flood emergency response. For these applications, readings need be put in context by integrating them with other sources about surrounding environment. Traditional systems predicting and detecting floods rely on methods that significant human resources. In this paper we describe a semantic web...

The Epstein-Barr virus-induced receptor 2 (EBI2) is a constitutively active seven-transmembrane receptor, which was recently shown to orchestrate the positioning of B cells in follicle. To date, no ligands, endogenously or synthetic, have been identified that modulate EBI2 activity. Here we describe an inverse agonist, GSK682753A, selectively inhibited constitutive activity with high potency and efficacy. In cAMP-response element-binding protein-based reporter guanosine...
