Palliative care is a challenging specialty, especially when it comes to caring for children with serious life-limiting conditions and supporting their families. Workers face significant challenges experience major impacts on wellbeing. We conducted qualitative study understand the sources of stress in palliative team, work expectations, how they can cope demands.
Zebrafish have the ability, to a certain extent, distinguish between different types of stimuli, including distinguishing videos conspecifics and non-conspecifics, skill known as stimulus discrimination. In this study, we investigated effects oxytocin on ability in albino non-albino zebrafish models, focusing correlations albinism, sensory deficiencies, socio-emotional behaviors. Our hypothesis is based premise that influences behaviors zebrafish, with varying depending phenotype (albino vs....
Background: Respiratory infections pose a significant public health challenge, particularly among healthcare workers (HCWs). The COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated absenteeism due to respiratory illnesses, affecting workforce stability. Identifying factors influencing is crucial for resilience and effective care. Methods: This retrospective longitudinal study analyzed HCW diseases from 2017 2023 at the "Sf. Maria" Children's Emergency Hospital in Iași, Romania. Data 3827 HCWs were examined,...
Zinc contamination in aquatic environments has become a growing concern due to its potential bioaccumulate and induce neurotoxic effects organisms. As an essential trace element, zinc plays crucial role various physiological processes, but excessive exposure can disrupt the gut–brain axis, leading cognitive behavioral impairments. Recent studies have suggested that probiotics may offer protective against environmental neurotoxins by modulating gut microbiota associated neurological...
Accumulating evidence implicates nicotinic acid adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NAADP) in the control of Ca(2+)-dependent functions. Little, however, is known concerning its role vascular endothelium, a major regulator blood pressure. Here, we show that NAADP acetoxymethyl ester (NAADP-AM), cell-permeant analog, increases cytosolic Ca(2+) concentration aortic endothelial cells. We demonstrate these signals and those evoked by acetylcholine are blocked disrupting acidic organelles with...
Apelin (AP), an endogenous ligand of the APJ receptor, is involved in regulation cardiovascular homeostasis. Regardless multiple similarities between AP and angiotensin II (Ang II), their roles seem to be different. We studied both interactions 13 (AP13) Ang what extent, if any, nitric oxide (NO) involved. The experiments were performed endothelium-denuded or endothelium-intact rat portal vein presence 10 µM N(G)-nitro L-arginine methyl ester aminoguanidine. AP13 did not modify isolated tone...
Angiotensin (1-7) [Ang (1-7)] is a bioactive component of the renin angiotensin system. Ang may interact with type 1 (AT ) or 2 receptors and — specific receptors. We examined interactions between different doses (1nM-1microM) II (Ang II) (10 100nM) on isolated rat portal vein. In endothelium-denuded vein rings, inhibited contractile effects induced by II. The were modified indomethacin, N(G)-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester (L-NAME), (D-Ala 7 )-Angiotensin (H-2888) losartan. Our results...
Introduction: Risk factors for cerebrovascular disease (CVD) are nonmodifiable and modifiable. Non-modifiable represented by: age, family history of CVD, race, sex, stroke or transient ischemic attack, the following considered modifiable factors: diet rich in fat salt, sedentary lifestyle, obesity, smoking, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, hypercholesterolemia, arterial disease, peripheral artery atrial fibrillation sickle cell disease. It appears that most involved occurrence with some...
Current state of knowledge on the impact emotions and perceptions population towards risk infection with SARS-CoV-2 should be basis for disease control measures as well community awareness programs. Due to differences in perceptions, concerns, culture, beliefs, different populations may react differently same challenges. Ninety adults were interviewed, without symptoms suggestive infection, using Romanian version Fear COVID-19 Scale. The emotional reactions expressed by various psychotic or...

Abstract The general perception is that the COVID-19 pandemic has been one of biggest challenges for health system. While touching every aspect life, requested a prompt response from system and other structures coordination systems intervene in daily activity. data presented were obtained following application questionnaire to average care staff Pascani Municipal Emergency Hospital, which monitored impact on their professional activity emotional state. results revealed not only feelings...
Abstract Complications of the SARS-CoV-2 infection have significantly impacted affected people’s quality life and professional activity. Neurological manifestations may be present from onset but also in course disease. The most common neurological symptoms are headache, anosmia/hyposmia, ageusia/dysgeusia, myalgia. studies mention severe complications such as stroke, cerebral hemorrhage, meningitis, encephalitis, Guillain-Barré syndrome, acute transverse myelitis, convulsions, movement...
Abstract Apelin (AP) and leptin (LEP) are adipokines with vasomotor actions. Taking into account the published data on role of obesity in development pulmonary hypertension, we studied implications apelin relaxing effects isolated rat arteries. LEP had vasodilatatory phenylephrine-precontracted arteries from normal ovalbumin-sensitized rats, but not rats monocrotaline-induced hypertension. AP13 pretreatment increased by one-half. Our studies revealed existence synergistic favorable these vessels.
