The first ferrous chloride catalyzed boration/β-fluorine elimination of trifluoromethyl alkenes is described. Thus, a full range gem-difluoroallylboronates were obtained in high yield under mild conditions. As an important fluorinated building block, gem-difluoroallylboronate can be readily converted into diverse difluoro-substituted species.

The reactions of [Cp*Fe(μ-SR1)3FeCp*] (Cp* = η5-C5Me5; R1 Et, Me) with 1.5 equiv R2NHNH2 (R2 Ph, give the μ-η2-diazene diiron thiolate-bridged complexes [Cp*Fe(μ-SR1)2(μ-η2-R2N═NH)FeCp*], along formation PhNH2 and NH3. This paper presents a new strategy for the construction of chiral 4H-chromene skeleton. A series 2-trifluoromethyl-4-(indol-3-yl)-4H-chromenes were synthesized in moderate to good yields (60-92%) with excellent enantioselectivity (up 97% ee) through palladium-catalyzed asymmetric condensation 2H-chromenes and indoles.
