The optimal treatment of intermediate-high-risk pulmonary embolism (PE) remains unknown. To assess the effect conventional catheter-directed thrombolysis (cCDT) plus anticoagulation vs monotherapy in improving echocardiographic measures right ventricle (RV) to left (LV) ratio acute PE.The Catheter-Directed Thrombolysis Anticoagulation Patients with Acute Intermediate-High-Risk Pulmonary Embolism (CANARY) trial was an open-label, randomized clinical patients PE, conducted 2 large...

The Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) presents open questions in how we clinically diagnose and assess course. Recently, chest computed tomography (CT) has shown utility for COVID-19 diagnosis. In this study, developed Deep COVID DeteCT (DCD), a deep learning convolutional neural network (CNN) that uses the entire CT volume to automatically predict (COVID+) from non-COVID-19 (COVID-) pneumonia normal controls. We discuss training strategies differences performance across 13 international...

Penetrating cardiac trauma is a fatal condition and can result in the injury of various parts heart. Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) following these traumas occurs only 1-5% cases. The patients' conditions depend on location, size, concomitant injuries. One uncommon coincidences with VSD Mitral Regurgitation (MR) due to sub-valvular structures. In this study, we report case traumatic-induced MR 14-year-old boy stab wound his chest. patient was teenage coming Rajaei Cardiology Hospital...

Mixed atrial septal defects (ASDs) involving inferior vena cava (IVC)-type sinus venosus and secundum types mixed partial anomalous pulmonary, systemic, hepatic venous drainage are rare. We describe a 3-year-old acyanotic boy who presented with large secundum-type ASD. He exhibited an abnormal connection between the right upper pulmonary vein atrium. Additionally, IVC drained abnormally into left The patient also had valvular supravalvular stenosis, as well small patent ductus arteriosus....

Despite the low incidence of COVID myocarditis, its influence on outcomes is substantial. The pivotal role cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) in diagnosing myocarditis considered to be associated with disease prognosis. primary objective this study was conduct a comparative analysis myocardial injury patterns, CMR pathologic features, outcomes, and their correlation findings COVID- non-COVID-related myocarditis. This historical cohort involved 124 patients diagnosed (COVID-19 or non-COVID-19),...

Carotid artery lesions frequently coexist with coronary arterial disease (CAD). The aim of this study was to investigate the relation between carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT) and extent CAD whether CIMT could be predictive severity atherosclerosis.Coronary angiography ultrasound evaluations 100 consecutive patients who had undergone elective were reviewed. IMT measured at both arteries. relationship based on SYNTAX score assessed. cardiovascular risk factors determined.Mean overall...

Anomalous origin of the right coronary artery from pulmonary (ARCAPA) is a very rare congenital heart defect. Herein, we describe three cases ARCAPA in an 8 months old, 18 and 4 year old child. Two were incidentally diagnosed using computed tomographic angiograph, other was angiograph. These underwent reimplantation technique on diagnosis resulting positive clinical outcomes during follow-up period which mean 1.5 years.

Undifferentiated pleomorphic cardiac sarcomas are extremely rare, highly malignant mesenchymal neoplasms typically presenting in the sixth decade of life. Here, we have reported a rare case undifferentiated sarcoma with dyspnea young male. On further evaluations, large, ill-defined, multilobulated mass was observed left atrium (LA) encasement circumflex artery, attachment to mitral valve annulus, and invasion through LA wall pericardium.

Pheochromocytoma is a rare, catecholamine-secreting tumor of neuroendocrine cells. It has been documented to present atypically as myocardial ischemia, arrhythmias, or congestive heart failure. We the case patient who had transient cardiomyopathy with hypokinesia basal portions left ventricle and hyperkinesia apex triggered by pheochromocytoma crisis similar that tako-tsubo cardiomyopathy, but an inverse ventricular contractile pattern ('inverted tako-tsubo'). Abstract Accounting for 1.5% of thoracic trauma, blunt aortic injury (BTAI) is a rare disease with high mortality rate that nowadays treated mostly via endovascular repair (TEVAR). Personalised computational models based on fluid–solid interaction (FSI) principals not only support clinical researchers in studying virtual therapy response, but also are capable predicting eventual outcomes. The present work studies the variation key haemodynamic parameters case BTAI after successful TEVAR,...
