Abstract Background Pulmonary arterial embolism (PE) is not well characterized in elderly patients. In addition, unnecessary computed tomography pulmonary angiography (CTPA) examinations are often performed within this patient group, especially if the pretest probability low. Objective To identify differences clinical presentation patients aged ≥80 years compared to <80 and effect of a BGA-optimized reduce CTPAs according age category. Materials methods A retrospective analysis with...
Background: The introduction of checkpoint inhibitors is a long-awaited new option for urothelial cancer with poor prognosis. Apart from clinical studies, the data on real world experience scarce. Methods: Patients monotherapy either Atezolizumab, Nivolumab or Pembrolizumab after chemotherapy were included. Adverse events and immune related adverse as well survival imaging analyses recorded in prospectively designed multi-center base. Duration response, progression free (PFS), overall (OS)...
Abstract Background The composition of the tumor microenvironment (TME) is conditioned by immunity and inflammatory response. Nutritional inflammation-based risk scores have emerged as relevant predictors survival outcome across a variety hematological malignancies. Methods In this retrospective multicenter trial, we ascertained prognostic impact established nutritional [Glasgow Prognostic Score (GPS), C-reactive–protein/albumin ratio (CAR), neutrophil–lymphocyte (NLR), index (PNI), (PI)] in...
Abstract In patients with suspected pulmonary embolism (PE), the number of unnecessary computed tomography angiography (CTPA) scans remains high, especially in low pre-test probability (PTP). So far, no study showed any additional benefit capillary blood gas analysis (BGA) diagnostic algorithms for PE. this retrospective PE and subsequent CTPA, clinical data, D-dimer levels BGA parameters (including standardized PaO2) were analyzed. Logistic regression analyses performed to identify...
Abstract Purpose Iodine-containing contrast agent (CA) used in contrast-enhanced CT angiography (CTA) can pose a health risk for patients. A system that adjusts the frequently standard CA dose individual patients based on their clinical parameters be useful. As basis quality of image CTA volumes has to determined, especially recognize excessive induced by overdosing. However, manual assessment with ROI-based classification is time-consuming step everyday practice. Methods We propose method...
Abstract Objectives In this paper, an artificial intelligence-based algorithm for predicting the optimal contrast medium dose computed tomography (CT) angiography of aorta is presented and evaluated in a clinical study. The prediction reduction modelled as classification problem using image main feature. Methods This performed by random decision forests (RDF) k-nearest-neighbor methods (KNN). For selection parameter subsets all possible combinations 22 parameters (age, blood pressure, etc.)...
Iodine-containing contrast agents (CA) are important for enhanced image in CT imaging especially angiography (CTA). CA however poses a risk to the patient since it can e.g. harm kidneys. In clinical routine often standard dose is applied that does not take differences between individual patients into account. We propose method as preliminary stage determines excessive and overdosing by assessing CTA images obtained with ulrich medical motion media injector RIS/PACS interface. A resulting...
This work aims to recognize the patient individual possibility of contrast dose reduction in CT angiography. system should help identify whether agent angiography can be reduced avoid side effects. In a clinical study, 263 angiographies were performed and, addition, 21 parameters recorded for each before administration. The resulting images labeled according their quality. It is assumed that could with excessive contrast. These data was used develop model predicting based on using logistic...
