Plant R2R3-MYB transcription factor genes are widely distributed in higher plants and play important roles the regulation of many secondary metabolites at transcriptional level. In this study, a chrysanthemum subgroup 4 gene, designated CmMYB1, was isolated through screening EST (expressed sequence tag) libraries using rapid application cDNA ends (RACE) methods functionally characterized. CmMYB1 is expressed root, stem, leaf flowers, but most strongly stem weakly root. Its heterologous...

Histone deacetylases (HDACs) play a critical role in the proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis of cancer cells. An obstacle for application HDAC inhibitors as effective anti-cancer therapeutics is that our current knowledge on contributions different HDACs various types remains scarce. The present study reported mRNA protein levels HDAC5 were up-regulated human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) tissues cells shown by quantitative real-time PCR Western blot. Abstract Osteoarthritis (OA) is a common chronic degenerative joint disease associated with variety of risk factors including aging, genetics, obesity, and mechanical disturbance. This study aimed to elucidate the function newly discovered circular RNA (circRNA), circFNDC3B, in OA progression its relationship NF-κB signaling pathway oxidative stress. The circFNDC3B/miR-525-5p/HO-1 axis stress were investigated validated using fluorescence situ hybridization, real-time PCR, western blotting,...

The family of NITRATE TRANSPORTER 2 (NRT2) proteins belongs to the high affinity transport system (HATS) which acts at low nitrate concentrations. relevant gene content chrysanthemum genome was explored here by isolating full length sequences six distinct CmNRT2 genes. One these (CmNRT2.1) investigated functional level. Its transcription level inducible concentrations both and ammonium. A yeast two hybrid assay showed that CmNRT2.1 interacts with CmNAR2, while a BiFC demonstrated interaction...

BACKGROUND: Resistance to carbendazim and other benzimidazole fungicides in Botrytis cinerea (Pers. ex Fr.) most fungi is usually conferred by mutation(s) a single chromosomal β-tubulin gene, often with several allelic mutations. In Fusarium graminearum Schwade, however, resistance not associated mutation the corresponding gene. RESULTS: The gene conferring B. was cloned connected two homologous arms of F. using double-joint polymerase chain reaction (PCR). This fragment transferred into via...

Chrysanthemum is an important ornamental plant which increasingly being monocropped. Monocropping known to affect both fungal abundance and species diversity. Here, quantitative PCR allied with DGGE analysis was used show that fungi were more abundant in the rhizosphere than bulk soil populations changed during growth cycle of chrysanthemum. The majority amplified fragments appeared derive from Fusarium species, F. oxysporum solani proved be major pathogenic are built up by monocropping.

Bermudagrass (Cynodon dactylon) is a salinity-tolerant turfgrass that has good use potential in the saline-alkali lands of warm regions. However, systematic Na+ and K+ regulation mechanisms under salinity stress remain unclear at whole plant level. Two bermudagrass cultivars differing tolerance were exposed to 0, 50, 100, 200, or 300 mM NaCl hydroponic system. Growth, absorption, transportation, secretion K+, gas exchange parameters determined both cultivars. contents decreased Na+/K+ ratios...
